Autodesk Bengaluru seeks an experienced backend engineer to design and sustain scalable microservices powering mission-critical apps. You will join a fast-moving Scrum team and shape the backend of our data platform for millions of users worldwide.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in cloud-native Java development, deep knowledge of AWS services, and a passion for performance, reliability, and automation. This role emphasizes collaboration and continuous learning.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years in application development with cloud-native apps.
• Strong OO design, data structures and algorithms.
• Relational and NoSQL databases experience.
• Built/maintained large-scale microservices; caching and eventing.
• Familiar with UML, design patterns, distributed systems and security.
• Proficient in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Jersey; REST services.
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools to aid dev work.
• Experience developing on AWS: ElastiCache, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, ECS/EKS.
• Strong debugging, performance tuning and remote debugging skills.
• CI/CD with Ant, Gradle, Docker, Jenkins; unit & automated testing with JUnit/Cucumber/JMeter.
• Git proficiency and good communication.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Own and Evolve Core Microservices: Take charge of essential microservices that form the backbone of our data platform, working within a professional Scrum team
• Deliver High-Quality Code: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that meets our rigorous engineering standards
• Drive Performance and Scalability: Proactively identify and resolve issues related to performance, stability, and scalability, ensuring our systems are robust and future-ready
• Champion Test Automation: Contribute to our automated testing efforts, ensuring reliability and quality at every stage
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and fellow developers to turn requirements into high-impact microservices that delight our customers
• Innovate and Experiment: Research and prototype new technologies and patterns to keep our backend architecture at the cutting edge
• Deliver Results: Focus on quality and customer satisfaction as you help us meet and exceed our product goals

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in application development, including designing and deploying cloud‑native applications
• Strong grasp of software development principles, data structures, algorithms, and object‑oriented design
• Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases
• Proven track record of building and maintaining large‑scale microservices, with knowledge of caching (Redis preferred), distributed tracing, eventing (Kinesis preferred), and scaling techniques
• Familiarity with UML, design patterns, distributed systems, resiliency, and security
• Proficiency in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and Jersey, as well as building RESTful web services
• Hands‑on experience using AI‑assisted software development tools (such as Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent) to accelerate coding, debugging, refactoring, automated testing, and documentation while ensuring code quality, security, and adherence to engineering best practices
• Hands‑on experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable microservices on AWS, leveraging services such as Amazon ElastiCache, DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, ECS, or EKS
• Strong troubleshooting skills, including stack trace analysis, profiling, and remote debugging
• Experience with build and CI/CD tools (Ant, Gradle, Docker, Jenkins).
• Hands‑on experience with unit and automated testing tools (JUnit, Cucumber, JMeter)
• Proficiency with Git or similar version control systems
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit
• Adaptability to changing business needs and priorities

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience with event‑driven architectures, streaming platforms (Kafka/Kinesis), and asynchronous processing
• Familiarity with container orchestration using Kubernetes (EKS preferred)
• Experience implementing observability frameworks (Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry)
• Practical knowledge of API security, OAuth, JWT, and secure coding practices
• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Experience working with high‑availability, large‑scale distributed systems
• Prior experience with DevOps practices, build pipelines, and automated deployments
• Knowledge of domain‑driven design (DDD) and clean architecture principles
• Experience with performance testing and load testing tools (Locust, Gatling, or JMeter)
• Open‑source contributions or a public GitHub repository/portfolio showcasing backend or microservices work
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (optional but a plus)
