Job summary

Veoneer, Bengaluru, seeks a Senior Software Development Engineer with 8–10 years of automotive embedded experience. You will analyze requirements, design architectures with Enterprise Architect, and develop AUTOSAR-based software for ECUs, ensuring traceability and compliance.

You will configure RTE/BSW/MCAL, work with CAN/UDS protocols, perform debugging and testing, and contribute to safety and quality processes while collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of Automotive embedded software experience.
• Strong AUTOSAR-based development and integration skills.
• Proficiency in Embedded C programming and microcontroller architectures.
• Experience with CAN, UDS, SPI, and other automotive protocols.
• Familiarity with ASPICE, ISO 26262, MISRA and safety lifecycle practices.

Responsibilities

• Analyze software requirements and derive traceable lower-level requirements.
• Design software architecture and detailed designs using Enterprise Architect.
• Develop, integrate, and validate AUTOSAR-based embedded software.
• Configure and integrate RTE, BSW, MCAL, and communication stacks.
• Develop software with C, perform debugging, unit and integration testing.
• Create test plans, specifications, and automated scripts (Python/JS).
• Work on CAN/UDS development, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Participate in reviews, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with global teams and stakeholders to meet timelines.
• Support continuous process/tooling improvements; ensure compliance.

What youll do?

• Analyze software requirements and derive low-level requirements with complete traceability.
• Design software architecture and detailed software design using Enterprise Architect (EA).
• Develop, integrate, and validate AUTOSAR-based embedded software applications.
• Configure and integrate RTE, BSW, MCAL, communication stacks, diagnostics, NVRAM, and bootloader components.
• Develop embedded software using C programming and perform debugging, unit testing, and integration testing.
• Create and execute test plans, test specifications, and automated test scripts using Python and J-Script.
• Work on CAN and UDS communication protocol development, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to software functional testing using CANoe, CANalyzer, CANstress, and flashing tools.
• Participate in technical reviews, issue analysis, root-cause investigation, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with global teams, customers, and stakeholders to deliver projects within timelines and quality standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in software development processes, tools, and methodologies.

What will you bring?

• 8-10 years of experience in Automotive Embedded Software Development, preferably in the Passive Safety domain.
• Strong expertise in AUTOSAR-based software development and integration.
• Proficiency in Embedded C programming with a solid understanding of microcontroller architecture, memory mapping, device drivers, compilers, and debuggers.
• Hands-on experience with CAN, UDS, SPI, and other automotive communication protocols.
• Experience with AUTOSAR configuration tools such as Vector DaVinci, GENy, and EB Tresos.
• Practical experience using automotive validation tools including CANoe, CANalyzer, and CANstress.
• Good understanding of software architecture, detailed design, and documentation using Enterprise Architect.
• Knowledge of software debugging techniques, testing methodologies, and integration testing.
• Understanding of ASPICE, Functional Safety (ISO 26262), MISRA guidelines, and software development lifecycle practices.
• Experience in configuration management and change management processes.
• Exposure to Fault Handler, DEM, EOL, EDR modules and Cybersecurity features such as Secure Boot, Secure Flash, and HSM is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently investigate and resolve technical issues.
• A proactive mindset, ownership attitude, and strong collaboration skills.
• Agile certification and experience working with Japanese OEMs will be an added advantage.
• Flexibility to work in a global environment with overlap timings when required.
