Job summary

Audax specializes in modernizing banking infrastructure and is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to own the design and operation of Kubernetes/OpenShift environments, leading reliability and infra-automation within your platform area.

You will collaborate with engineering, platform, and security teams to improve delivery velocity while embedding security into platform operations and resolving non-routine infra issues.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years in SRE/DevOps/Platform/Infra.
• Production Kubernetes/OpenShift multi-cluster experience.
• Cloud (AWS) with on-prem/hybrid exposure.
• IaC tooling (Terraform, Helm) and GitOps (ArgoCD).
• CI/CD pipelines experience.
• Observability stack experience.
• RBAC/IAM/secrets management/network policies.
• Troubleshooting across networking, storage, app infra.
• Experience in financial services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate Kubernetes/OpenShift environments — multi-cluster deployments, nodes, networking, storage, ingress, and operators.
• Lead reliability engineering practices for owned platform areas, including SLIs, SLOs, alerting strategies, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
• Provision and automate infrastructure using Terraform, Helm, kubectl/oc, and GitOps workflows to reduce manual operational overhead.
• Operate on‑prem and cloud (AWS) infrastructure — networking, load balancers, DNS, certificates, and storage.
• Implement and maintain observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch/ELK, OpenTelemetry) to support proactive issue detection.
• Participate in on‑call rotation, troubleshoot complex platform and infrastructure issues, and lead incident response through blameless postmortems.
• Build and maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines (ArgoCD, Jenkins, Helm) to improve deployment reliability and developer productivity.
• Apply infrastructure security practices — RBAC, IAM, secrets management, certificates, network policies, and encryption.
• Partner with engineering, platform, and security teams to align on reliability priorities, provide operational guidance, and resolve non‑routine infrastructure issues.
• Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides, and mentor engineers to raise platform and reliability capability across the team.

Summary

We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to help build and operate reliable, scalable, cloud-native platforms supporting mission‑critical financial applications. In this role, you will own the design and operation of Kubernetes/OpenShift‑based environments, including multi‑cluster setups, and lead reliability, observability, and infrastructure‑automation practices within your platform area. You will work closely with engineering, platform, and security teams to resolve non‑routine infrastructure problems, embed security into platform operations, and improve delivery velocity for the wider engineering organization.

What You’ll Do

• Design and operate Kubernetes/OpenShift environments — including multi‑cluster deployments, nodes, networking, storage, ingress, and operators — within your platform scope.
• Lead reliability engineering practices for owned platform areas, including SLIs, SLOs, alerting strategies, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
• Provision and automate infrastructure using Terraform, Helm, kubectl/oc, and GitOps workflows to reduce manual operational overhead.
• Operate on‑prem and cloud (AWS) infrastructure — including enterprise networking, load balancers, DNS, certificates, and storage — with a focus on availability, capacity, performance, and cost.
• Implement and maintain observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch/ELK, OpenTelemetry) to support proactive issue detection.
• Participate in on‑call rotation, troubleshoot complex platform and infrastructure issues, and lead incident response through blameless postmortems.
• Build and maintain CI/CD and GitOps pipelines (ArgoCD, Jenkins, Helm) to improve deployment reliability and developer productivity.
• Apply infrastructure security practices — RBAC, IAM, secrets management, certificates, network policies, and encryption — across managed environments.
• Partner with engineering, platform, and security teams to align on reliability priorities, provide operational guidance, and resolve non‑routine infrastructure issues.
• Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides, and mentor engineers to raise platform and reliability capability across the team.

Who You Are

• 6–9 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience operating Kubernetes/OpenShift in production, including multi‑cluster environments.
• Experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS) alongside on‑prem or hybrid environments.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tooling (Terraform, Helm) and GitOps workflows (e.g. ArgoCD).
• Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub, or similar).
• Practical experience with observability stacks: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch/ELK, and OpenTelemetry.
• Working knowledge of distributed data systems such as PostgreSQL, Kafka, or Cassandra.
• Experience implementing infrastructure security controls, including RBAC, IAM, secrets management, and network policies.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across networking, storage, and application infrastructure.
• Experience supporting production systems in financial services or another regulated industry is preferred.
