Job summary

UST is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to design, build, and support highly available, scalable cloud-native platforms. The role combines software engineering, cloud infrastructure, automation, and operational excellence to ensure reliability, performance, and security of services.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in GCP, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and production support within large-scale distributed environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 3-6 years of experience in Software Engineering, SRE, Cloud Infra, Systems Administration, or DevOps.
• Minimum 2+ years hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (GCP and/or AWS).
• Strong expertise in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation.
• Experience with Jenkins pipelines and managing cloud infrastructure via automation.

We are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to design, build, and support highly available, scalable, and resilient cloud-native platforms. This role combines software engineering, cloud infrastructure, automation, and operational excellence to ensure critical services meet reliability, performance, and security expectations.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in GCP, AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and production support within large-scale distributed environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and improve platform reliability, availability, and performance across cloud-native and hybrid environments.
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, cloud CLIs, and cloud SDKs.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, and cloud-native deployment tools.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployments, service requests, and operational workflows.
• Provision and manage cloud resources including GCE, GKE, Storage, Networking, IAM, and related services.
• Develop and maintain operational runbooks, monitoring dashboards, and alerting mechanisms.
• Configure and enhance observability using tools such as Google Cloud Monitoring (Stackdriver), Datadog, and AppDynamics.
• Implement and support blue/green deployment strategies and release automation.
• Troubleshoot complex distributed systems, applications, and infrastructure issues.
• Participate in on-call rotations, incident management, and production support activities.
• Lead post-incident reviews and drive corrective actions to improve service reliability and reduce recurrence.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, networking, and platform teams to deliver resilient solutions.

Required Experience & Skills

Technical Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-6years of experience in Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Systems Administration, or DevOps.
• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience working with public cloud platforms (GCP and/or AWS).
• Strong expertise in Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation.
• Experience managing and rebuilding cloud infrastructure using automated Terraform and Jenkins pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Google Compute Engine (GCE)
• Networking and IAM services
• Proficiency in Shell scripting and/or Python automation.
• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Git.
• Strong understanding of Helm Charts and Kubernetes deployments.
• Experience implementing IAM policies, custom roles, and access controls in cloud environments.
• Knowledge of monitoring, alerting, observability, and incident management practices.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, networking, security, storage, and database technologies.
