Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of a partner, is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer in India to ensure availability, performance, and resilience of cloud services. You will design, deploy, and maintain platforms, automate operations, and mentor other engineers in reliability best practices.

You will work with cross-functional teams to improve monitoring, incident response, and service restoration, while supporting scalable product deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Site Reliability experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Golang with Bash scripting.
• Strong knowledge of SRE principles, observability, monitoring, and SLOs.
• Experience with configuration management and infrastructure automation tools such as SaltStack, Terraform, and Ansible.
• CI/CD with Jenkins.
• Linux administration and Docker containers.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki.
• Familiarity with Nginx/Envoy/HAProxy and Redis for performance.
• Excellent problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to SRE team.
• Define technical requirements across the product lifecycle, contributing to system designs and reliability standards.
• Deploy, operate, and maintain internal platforms, infrastructure, and engineering tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve availability, reliability, scalability, and usability.
• Enhance the Compute Cloud Interface to accelerate error detection and remediation.
• Design, develop, and maintain automation to support daily operations and reduce manual work.
• Participate in on-call rotations and coordinate incident restoration.
• Investigate escalations and resolve customer-impacting incidents.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer based in India.

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will help ensure the availability, performance, and resilience of critical cloud compute services and infrastructure. In this role, you will design, deploy, and maintain platforms, applications, and tools that support reliable operations at scale. You will work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to improve monitoring, accelerate incident detection, and streamline service recovery. Combining software development, automation, and infrastructure expertise, you will help modernize existing systems while supporting the launch of new applications. You will also contribute technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers, helping establish strong reliability practices across teams. This is a remote opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges in a collaborative environment.

Accountabilities

• Provide technical support, guidance, and mentorship to other Site Reliability Engineers within the team.

• Define technical requirements throughout the product lifecycle, contributing to system designs, engineering standards, and reliability best practices.

• Deploy, operate, and maintain internal platforms, infrastructure, and engineering tools.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the availability, reliability, scalability, and usability of products and services.

• Enhance the Compute Cloud Interface platform to accelerate error detection and remediation while improving system performance and reliability.

• Design, develop, and maintain automation that supports daily operations, streamlines workflows, and reduces repetitive manual work.

• Participate in on-call rotations and help coordinate the restoration and repair of services affected by incidents.

• Work with internal teams to investigate technical escalations, troubleshoot complex issues, and resolve customer-impacting incidents.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.

• Programming and automation experience using Python and/or Golang, along with scripting languages such as Bash.

• Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering principles and best practices, particularly systems reliability, observability, monitoring, and Service Level Objectives (SLOs).

• Experience with configuration management and infrastructure automation tools such as SaltStack, Terraform, and Ansible.

• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) solutions such as Jenkins.

• Strong hands-on Linux administration skills and experience with container-based platforms such as Docker.

• Practical experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki.

• Familiarity with web proxy technologies such as Nginx, Envoy, or HAProxy, and performance optimization solutions such as Redis.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with the capacity to collaborate effectively across technical teams and support incident resolution.
