Job summary

Experian is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to support the reliability, availability, and performance of business-critical systems on AWS cloud.

You will work with development, platform, and operations teams to ensure systems are scalable, monitored, and resilient.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with AWS cloud services.
• Experience with DevOps pipelines and CI/CD processes.
• Understanding of SRE principles and reliability engineering.
• Experience troubleshooting production Linux systems.
• Scripting skills (Python, Bash).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high availability and performance of production systems.
• Define and monitor SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for services.
• Automate toil with infrastructure as code and scripting.
• Support AWS deployments and backup planning.
• Manage incidents and conduct RCA.
• Build observability dashboards and alerting.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed reliability.

Job Description

Role Overview

Looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support the reliability, availability, and performance of business‑critical systems. This role focuses on AWS cloud infrastructure, DevOps tools, and core SRE practices. You will work closely with development, platform, and operations teams to ensure systems are stable, scalable, and well monitored.

Key Responsibilities

Reliability & Operations

• Support high availability, scalability, and performance of production systems
• Implement and maintain SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for services
• Identify and reduce operational toil through automation and process improvement
• Support design and implementation of fault‑tolerant and resilient systems

AWS & Cloud Operations

• Manage and operate systems hosted on AWS (EC2, EKS/ECS, RDS, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC)
• Support cloud deployments and infrastructure changes following best practices
• Assist with backup, disaster recovery, and resiliency planning

DevOps & Automation

• Work with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools to support reliable deployments
• Use Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Automate repetitive tasks using scripts (Python, Bash, etc.)

Incident Management

• Participating in production incident response, troubleshooting, and service restoration
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and contribute to post‑incident reviews
• Help implement preventive actions to avoid incident recurrence

Observability

• Configure and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting using tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace,
• Build dashboards to track system health and reliability metrics thoroughly user Journey
• Improve alert quality to reduce noise and improve response times

Collaboration

• Work closely with application and Engineering teams to embed reliability into system design
• Act as a strong team player, sharing knowledge and supporting team goals
• Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Required Skills

• Hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services
• Knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD processes
• Understanding of SRE principles, monitoring, and reliability engineering
• Experience with Linux systems and troubleshooting production issues
• Basic scripting skills (Python, Shell, or similar)
• Good communication and collaboration skills
