Job summary

NielsenIQ is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to design, implement, and manage Azure-based AKS environments and end-to-end CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions. You will build data pipelines using Airflow and Azure Databricks, develop Power BI reports, and support multi-application production systems.

The role emphasizes strong incident management, log analysis, and cross-team collaboration in a fast-paced cloud environment located in Chennai, India.

Qualifications

Site Reliability Engineer Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior DevOps / Data Engineer with strong expertise in Azure cloud, Kubernetes, CI/CD automation, and modern data engineering tools. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in designing, building, and managing cloud infrastructure, developing GitHub Actions pipelines from scratch, and supporting production environments with a focus on troubleshooting, performance optimization, and incident resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments for scalable applications
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, including developing workflows from scratch
• Work extensively with Azure Cloud (IaaS & PaaS) to provision, configure, and manage infrastructure
• Set up and maintain lower environments (Dev/Test) and contribute to production environment deployments
• Design, develop, and maintain data engineering pipelines using: Apache Airflow Azure Databricks
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
• Perform daily troubleshooting, log analysis, and root cause analysis across applications and infrastructure
• Support and maintain production systems hosting multiple applications
• Handle and resolve user queries, incidents, and service requests in a timely manner
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance

Qualifications

• Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) – Advanced (8/10 proficiency)
• GitHub Actions (CI/CD) – Advanced (8/10 proficiency), including pipeline creation from scratch
• Microsoft Azure (IaaS & Infrastructure Management) – Advanced (8/10 proficiency)
• Data Engineering Stack: Apache Airflow Azure Databricks Power BI – Dashboard development and reporting
• Strong expertise in production support, monitoring, and incident management
• Excellent log analysis and debugging skills
• Experience working in multi-application production environments

Desired Candidate Profile

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Data Engineering roles
• Proven experience building and managing end-to-end cloud and CI/CD solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting
• Ability to work in high-pressure production environments
• Excellent communication skills and experience handling user queries and stakeholder interactions
• Self-driven with ownership mindset and continuous learning attitude
• Experience in monitoring tools (Kube Prometheus Stack, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, etc.)
• Familiarity with security best practices and tools such as, cycode, codeQL, wiz.
• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates)
