Job summary

Akamai Technologies GmbH in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Platform Reliability Engineer to help design, implement, and operate scalable, highly available distributed content delivery systems at scale. You will automate workflows, define SLIs/SLOs with cross‑functional teams, monitor platform health, respond to incidents, and drive reliability improvements across the org.

Strong scripting (Python, Bash, JavaScript), UNIX/Linux mastery, and experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and Oracle

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficient in scripting with Python, Bash, and JavaScript for automation.
• Experience with monitoring/alerting: Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.
• Strong UNIX/Linux system administration skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of Oracle SQL for data integrity checks and reporting.
• Ability to deliver automation-centered operational excellence and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent communication and teamwork across cross-functional groups.

Responsibilities

• Working on internet technologies to improve performance, availability, and scalability of large distributed content delivery systems.
• Define and establish measurable SLIs and Objectives with cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical guidance to ensure designs meet reliability requirements.
• Monitor platform availability and performance, analyze data, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and implement automation solutions to reduce repetitive tasks and increase efficiency.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure scalability and robustness.
• Stay updated on cloud, DevOps, and SRE best practices and trends.

The Platform & Reliability Engineering team is responsible for defining, measuring, & optimizing the key performance indicators of delivery customers. Your expertise in software engineering and systems administration will be instrumental in building robust and resilient infrastructure.

Enhance system reliability, scalability, and performance by designing, implementing, and maintaining robust infrastructure and operational processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment, monitoring, and incident response. Proactively identify and resolve system issues to support business continuity and growth. Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Have 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Demonstrate expertise in scripting languages like Python, Bash, and JavaScript to enable automation and create efficient tools.
• Utilize monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ADBMS, and Datadog effectively for creating and managing dashboards.
• Work proficiently in UNIX/Linux environments, showcasing exceptional problem‑solving abilities and comprehensive system expertise.
• Utilize Oracle SQL to perform data integrity checks, identify root causes of anomalies, and generate detailed reports.
• Improve outcomes, embrace ongoing learning, and deliver automation‑centered operational excellence across various initiatives with proactive self‑direction.
• Demonstrate customer focus, accountability, and exceptional communication and teamwork abilities across various cross‑functional groups.
