Job summary

Zenda in Bengaluru is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer/SDET to build scalable automation solutions and raise quality across enterprise apps and modern distributed systems.

You will work closely with engineering, DevOps, product, and platform teams to ensure high-quality software delivery through automation-first and AI-assisted QE approaches. This is a small, high-ownership team shaping reliability as we scale.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in test automation.
• Hands-on with automation frameworks.
• Strong programming in Java, Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
• Experience with Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Appium.
• Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, messaging, and async workflows.
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI.
• Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments.
• Familiarity with observability tools and monitoring concepts.

We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Automation Engineer / Senior SDET to build scalable automation solutions and drive quality engineering practices across enterprise applications and modern distributed systems. This role is ideal for someone passionate about automation, engineering excellence, developer productivity, and modern testing practices in fast-paced Agile environments. You will work closely with engineering, DevOps, product, and platform teams to ensure high-quality software delivery through automation-first and AI-assisted quality engineering approaches. We are a small, high-ownership engineering team. What you build here will directly shape the reliability and velocity of Zenda's platform as we scale across new markets.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks across web, mobile, APIs, and microservices.
• Drive automation coverage across functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in test automation, software testing, or quality engineering, with strong hands-on experience building and maintaining automation frameworks.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar languages.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of API testing, microservices, distributed systems, and modern application architectures.
• Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, messaging systems, and asynchronous workflows.
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar tools.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud-native environments.
• Familiarity with Kafka/RabbitMQ, Redis, and relational/non-relational databases.
• Experience with performance testing tools such as k6 JMeter, or Gatling.
• Understanding of observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Datadog, Prometheus, or OpenTelemetry
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and analytical skills; excellent communication and collaboration skills
