Job summary

CoinDCX in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced SDET/Quality Engineer to own end-to-end testing for the Futures and Trading platform. You’ll design scalable automation across components, APIs, and integrations, and validate complex trading workflows including orders, margins, and P/L.

You will mentor junior SDET engineers, drive shift-left quality with engineering teams, and improve CI/CD feedback loops while ensuring data accuracy and consistency across distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years in SDET, QE, or SWE roles.
• 2+ years in Trading/Derivatives/Capital Markets platforms.
• Strong programming skills in Java/Kotlin/Python.
• Experience with API and backend automation frameworks.
• Experience in CI/CD integration and distributed systems testing.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end quality strategy for Futures and Trading platform areas.
• Design and build scalable automation across components, APIs, and integrations.
• Test complex trading scenarios including orders, positions, margin, and P/L.
• Validate race conditions, idempotency, and distributed state transitions.
• Build automation to verify financial calculations and data consistency.
• Lead design reviews to shift-left quality with engineers.
• Improve automation reliability and CI/CD feedback loops.
• Investigate production issues and implement preventive quality solutions.
• Define risk-based test strategies for high-impact workflows.
• Mentor SDET 1 and SDET 2 engineers.

What You’ll Do:

• Own the end-to-end quality strategy for critical areas of the Futures and Trading platform .
• Design and build scalable automation across component, API, integration, and end-to-end layers.
• Test complex trading scenarios involving order placement, modification, cancellation, partial fills, execution, positions, margin, leverage, P&L, funding, and liquidation.
• Identify and validate failure scenarios such as duplicate or out-of-order events, race conditions, retries, idempotency issues, inconsistent states, and concurrent order processing.
• Build automation that validates financial calculations, data consistency, precision, and state transitions across distributed systems.
• Drive shift-left quality by working with engineers during design and development to identify risks early.
• Improve automation reliability, execution speed, and CI/CD feedback loops.
• Investigate complex production issues and implement preventive quality solutions.
• Define risk-based test strategies for high-impact, money-moving workflows.
• Mentor SDET 1 and SDET 2 engineers and raise the overall engineering and quality bar.

You’ll Excel in This Role If You:

• 5–8 years of experience in SDET, Quality Engineering, or Software Engineering roles.
• 2+ years of experience working with Trading, Futures, Derivatives, Exchanges, Brokerage, or Capital Markets platforms.
• Strong understanding of trading concepts such as:Order lifecycle
• Order execution and partial fills
• Positions
• Margin and leverage
• Realised and unrealised P&L
• Funding
• Liquidation
• Settlement
• Strong programming skills in Java, Kotlin, Python, or similar languages.
• Hands-on experience with API and backend automation using frameworks such as RestAssured, Karate, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience testing asynchronous and event-driven systems using technologies such as Kafka, messaging systems, WebSockets, caches, and databases.
• Ability to design scalable automation frameworks and test strategies rather than only contributing test cases.
• Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills for complex distributed system failures.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
