Job summary

Hester in India seeks an experienced leader to manage R&D operations focused on veterinary vaccine development. The role requires directing multidisciplinary teams, overseeing laboratory, animal studies, and regulatory activities to ensure milestones are met.

The ideal candidate will have 10–15 years in vaccine development with at least 5 years in a senior managerial position, and a strong background in GLP and GMP compliance and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drive execution of vaccine development projects across multidisciplinary teams.
• Plan lab, pilot-scale, and technology transfer activities.
• Oversee animal studies including safety, efficacy, and potency.
• Develop and validate assays for vaccine development.
• Prepare technical reports and regulatory documentation.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, QA, QC, and Regulatory Affairs to hit milestones.
• Mentor scientists and ensure timely project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with GLP, GMP, CPCSEA, IAEC, biosafety.
• Take on additional scientific responsibilities as assigned.

Job description

Profile Summary

He/She will be responsible for managing day to day operations of R&D at Hester Biosciences, India. He/She will be responsible for leading assigned vaccine development projects, driving scientific excellence, managing multidisciplinary teams, overseeing animal studies, assay development, technology transfer and ensuring the timely achievement of project milestones.

Key Role & Responsibilities

• Drive day-to-day execution of vaccine development projects through multidisciplinary teams.


• Plan and oversee laboratory, pilot-scale, and technology transfer activities.


• Manage large animal and poultry vaccine studies, including safety, efficacy, potency, and challenge studies.


• Develop, validate, and standardize biological and analytical assays for vaccine development.


• Review scientific data, prepare technical reports, and support regulatory documentation.


• Coordinate with Manufacturing, QA, QC, Regulatory Affairs, and other functions to achieve project milestones.


• Mentor and supervise scientists and technical staff to ensure timely project execution.


• Ensure compliance with GLP, GMP, CPCSEA, IAEC, biosafety, and regulatory requirements.


• Perform additional scientific and technical responsibilities assigned by the CSO.


• Drive day-to-day execution of vaccine development projects through multidisciplinary teams.

Experience -

10 to 15 years of experience in veterinary vaccine or biological product development. Minimum 5 years in a senior managerial role managing multidisciplinary R&D teams.

Qualification -

Ph.D. / M.V.Sc. / M.Sc. in Veterinary Microbiology, Virology, Biotechnology, Immunology, Microbiology, or related Life Sciences.
