Axalta is seeking an experienced chemist to apply coatings knowledge across automotive refinishes and related products. You will prepare paint samples, test per specifications, interpret results, and contribute to work plans while meeting milestones.
You will present findings in internal meetings, engage with customers and suppliers, and support manufacturing for alignment batches. A strong emphasis on accuracy, teamwork, and safety is required.
Brief Job Description: Knowledge and use of concepts, practices, procedures. Applies basic knowledge of coatings, resins, and curing chemistries for certain segment, technology, or process to a business specific application for Automotive refinish. Panel preparation & testing as per product specification. Interprets and analyzes results, makes suggestions on path forward and contributes to formulating work plans and managing daily workflow {involves Preparing paint samples (including Pre-mixing, Grinding, Thinning) as per Formulation / Guidelines given by Supervisor; Panel preparation & testing as per product specification} Produces accurate and timely results with guidance from supervisor defined timeline (multi-projects); Has proven ability to meet project milestones. Demonstrates ownership mindset and removes obstacles to deliver on commitments. Authority and decision making are limited to decisions of low and moderate impact. Provides input into technical discussions. Effectively communicates work progress/research results by giving internal presentations at project team meetings. Participates in customer and supplier meetings. Supports manufacturing for alignment batches. Visit Customer for New product launch, Issue resolution etc. To maintain 5S & Safety in Laboratory & office area. Accomplish other tasks assigned by superior.
Graduate / Postgraduate in Chemistry, Polymer science, Paint Technology, Chemical engineering, Diploma in Paint Technology. Minimum 8-10 years related work experience in Coatings or allied industry.
