Role Overview:
The Month-End Controller is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end month-end close process on a global scale. This role ensures accuracy, timeliness, and strict compliance with group accounting policies. You will act as a critical liaison between the Shared Service Centre (SSC), regional controllership teams, and the group to deliver high-quality financial results and improve closing efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
– Process Management: Lead and manage the global month-end calendar, ensuring transparency and the proactive resolution of bottlenecks to meet all deadlines.
– Financial Integrity: Ensure consistency in workflows and maintain robust control over the Trial Balance, P&L, and Balance Sheet positions.
– BPO Coordination: Collaborate closely with BPO partners and regional accounting teams to ensure the effective execution of all closing activities.
– Continuous Improvement: Drive standardization, automation, and initiatives to reduce cycle time while increasing accuracy.
– Governance & Audit: Support group audit and compliance requirements by ensuring all documentation and evidence are complete and available.
– Performance Tracking: Prepare and present closing KPIs and performance metrics to management to highlight improvement opportunities.
Requirements:
– Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) or an equivalent advanced professional level.
– Experience: At least 12 years of experience in a similar role, specifically within month-end processes.
– Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with SAP or other major ERP systems.
– BPO Management: Proven experience managing BPO organizations in the delivery of month-end processes.
– Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, stakeholder management, and the ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, diverse culture.
– Preferred Assets: Advanced Excel skills, Global Process Owner (GPO) experience, or experience in system and process implementation.
