Job summary

Northern Trust, a global leader in wealth management, asset servicing, asset management and banking services, seeks a Senior Analyst for Risk Data Management in Bengaluru. The role focuses on data governance, quality, and regulatory reporting within risk and financial crime domains.

The candidate will partner with data owners and business stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, traceable, and ready for reporting.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in Risk/ Banking Domain.
  • Master-level understanding of financial risk and regulatory considerations.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data management and data quality practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and project management.

Responsibilities

  • Drive data governance practices including data quality, metadata, lineage and controls.
  • Support regulatory reporting processes and data governance activities for submissions.
  • Support data sourcing, integration, transformation and validation across systems.
  • Collaborate with risk/compliance teams to ensure data accuracy for reporting and risk management.
  • Perform data profiling, reconciliation and root-cause analysis across datasets.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.

Senior Analyst, Risk Data Management

Major Duties :
  • Drive data governance practices, including data quality, metadata management, lineage, controls, and stewardship.
  • Support regulatory reporting processes and data governance activities for internal and external regulatory submissions.
  • Support data sourcing, integration, transformation, and validation activities across multiple systems
  • Support audit, regulatory examination, and issue remediation activities by providing data traceability and documentation.
  • Partner with data owners and business stakeholders to identify and remediate data quality issues
  • Analyze and support initiatives across Financial Risk, AML, KYC, Fraud, and Financial Crime domains.
  • Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to ensure data used for regulatory reporting and risk management is accurate, complete, and traceable.
  • Perform data profiling, reconciliation, and root cause analysis across complex datasets.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in Risk/ Banking Domain
  • MBA in Finance, Risk Management, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Financial Risk and/or Financial Crime domains.
  • Experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, or Regulatory Reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across business, risk, and technology teams.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and project management practices.
Required Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Basic SQL and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with reporting and visualization platforms such as Power BI, Sigma, Snowflake and other business intelligence tools are good to have.
  • Ability to investigate data anomalies, perform root cause analysis, and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong project management, issue management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective partnerships across business, technology, risk, and compliance teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
