Job Description

A Senior Resident - Radio-Diagnosis is responsible for supporting diagnostic imaging services and interpreting radiological examinations under the guidance of senior radiologists. The includes patient assessment, image review, reporting support, emergency imaging, interdepartmental coordination, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

  • Review clinical information and imaging requests before examinations.
  • Assist in interpretation of X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and other imaging studies as applicable.
  • Evaluate image quality and identify relevant findings.
  • Prepare and finalize radiology reports under appropriate supervision.
  • Correlate imaging findings with clinical information.
  • Communicate urgent or critical findings promptly to the treating team.
  • Assist with emergency and priority imaging cases.
  • Participate in ultrasound and other imaging procedures according to competence.
  • Assist with image-guided procedures under appropriate supervision.
  • Review previous imaging studies for comparison when required.
  • Coordinate with radiographers, technicians, nurses, and clinical departments.
  • Maintain accurate radiology documentation and reporting records.
  • Follow radiation-safety and patient-safety protocols.
  • Ensure appropriate patient preparation and positioning as required.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and clinical discussions.
  • Participate in academic activities, case presentations, and audits.
  • Guide junior residents and interns in routine radiology activities.
  • Support quality-improvement initiatives in the radiology department.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and data security.
  • Follow hospital SOPs and applicable radiology standards.
