Job summary

Narayana Health in Bengaluru is seeking a dedicated Senior Resident to join the Paediatric Cardiac Surgery team. The role involves assisting consultants in evaluation, surgical management, and perioperative care of paediatric patients with congenital and acquired cardiac conditions.

You will participate in pre-operative evaluation, assist in surgeries, provide post-operative care, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and support teaching, audits, and research activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist consultants in the assessment and management of paediatric cardiac surgery patients.
• Participate in pre-operative evaluation and preparation of patients for surgery.
• Assist in paediatric cardiac surgical procedures as per training and competency.
• Provide post-operative care and monitor patients for complications.
• Coordinate with Paediatric Cardiology, Cardiac Anaesthesia, PICU, Perfusion, and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Attend to emergency cases and support the management of critically ill paediatric cardiac patients.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records, clinical notes, and discharge summaries.
• Counsel parents/attendants regarding treatment plans and post-operative care under consultant guidance.
• Participate in ward rounds, outpatient services, emergency duties, and on-call responsibilities.
• Follow hospital protocols, infection-control measures, and patient-safety standards.
• Participate in academic activities, case presentations, teaching programs, audits, and research activities.
• Ensure effective communication and continuity of care between the surgical and critical-care teams.
