Senior Reservoir Simulation Engineer

About the position:

The Senior Reservoir Simulation Engineer performs reservoir engineering and simulation studies for Chevron's worldwide operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Performs reservoir engineering and simulation studies for Chevron operations, while mentoring and training less experienced engineers

• Supports field development and base business activities in business units by providing history matching and optimization studies, uncertainty assessment, probabilistic production forecasts including various recovery mechanisms (primary, enhanced oil recovery and improved oil recovery), using tools like Petrel-RE and IPM suite

• Mentors and coaches other team members on simulation fundamentals and principles

Required qualifications:

• BS and MS in Petroleum Engineering or other engineering discipline

• Experience with hands-on reservoir engineering, modeling and simulation using industry software

• Understanding of surface network coupled modeling, working knowledge of probabilistic analysis, history matching and optimization studies

• Sufficient experience and expertise to coach and mentor others in the team on simulation fundamentals and principles and to grow expertise in IX

• Proficiency in tools like Petrel-RE and IPM suite is expected as well as industry simulation tools and an ability to learn Chevron's Intersect (IX) simulation tools
