Job summary

Jobtailor in Bengaluru, India, is seeking a Power BI Developer to design and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that support banking and fintech decision-making.

You will collaborate with analysts, data engineers and stakeholders to translate requirements into effective data visualizations, implement row-level security, and ensure performance and UX quality across reporting assets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
• 5+ years’ experience supporting global data governance and data management initiatives in banking/fintech.
• Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and data modeling.
• Strong UX/UI sense and accessible dashboard design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive and visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into effective data visualizations.
• Develop reports that track and analyze key banking and financial KPIs such as customer acquisition, loan performance, risk metrics, and operational efficiency.
• Optimize report performance and usability by applying best practices in data modeling, DAX, and Power Query.
• Ensure consistency in design, branding, and user experience across all reporting assets.
• Implement row‑level security and data access controls to ensure compliance with data governance and privacy standards.
• Conduct user training and provide documentation to support adoption and self‑service analytics.
• Continuously improve reporting solutions based on user feedback and evolving business needs.
• Participate in Agile development cycles, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
• 5+ years’ experience supporting global data governance and data management initiatives, preferably in banking, fintech or other highly regulated industries.
• Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and data modeling.
• Solid understanding of UX/UI principles and experience designing user‑friendly, accessible dashboards.
• Proven experience working with banking and financial KPIs, including regulatory, operational, and customer‑centric metrics.
• Experience working with large datasets and integrating data from multiple sources (e.g., SQL Server, Azure, Excel, APIs).
• Familiarity with data governance, data privacy, and compliance requirements in regulated industries.
• Experience working in Agile teams, with a collaborative and iterative approach to development.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
