Job summary

MaxIQ in Pune, India, seeks a React Native Engineer to own architecture decisions and the EAS build/release pipeline as we build a React Native + Expo mobile app from an early stage. You will ship features across iOS and Android from a single Expo codebase and work directly with backend and design to ensure end-to-end quality.

About the role

MaxIQ is looking for an experienced React Native Engineer as we're building a React Native + Expo mobile app from an early stage. You'll own architecture decisions, the EAS build and release pipeline, and native module work where Expo's managed surface runs out.

What you'll do:

• - Build and ship features across iOS and Android from a single Expo codebase
• - Own the release pipeline: EAS Build, EAS Update (OTA), TestFlight and Play Console submissions
• - Write and integrate native modules using TurboModules / JSI when JS isn't enough
• - Profile and fix performance: list virtualization, re-render cost, bridge/JSI overhead, startup time, memory
• - Integrate SDKs that touch native permissions, background tasks, and notifications
• - Set up and maintain the testing layer: Jest, React Native Testing Library, Maestro or Detox for E2E
• - Work directly with backend and design; own quality end to end, not just the PR

Must have:

• - 4+ years shipping production mobile apps; 3+ years React Native
• - Apps live on the App Store and Play Store that you personally shipped and maintained (send links)
• - Strong TypeScript — you write types that catch bugs, not types that satisfy the linter
• - Expo (SDK 50+) in production: config plugins, prebuild/CNG, dev clients, EAS Build and Update
• - Working understanding of the New Architecture — Fabric, TurboModules, JSI, bridgeless mode — including what breaks during migration and how to debug it
• - Comfortable in native code when required: Xcode, Gradle, CocoaPods, reading Swift/Kotlin, resolving native build failures
• - Navigation, offline behavior, state management, and deep linking at production scale
• - Debugging with Flipper/Hermes debugger, Xcode Instruments, and Android Profiler
