Job summary

Swiggy Bengaluru is seeking an experienced frontend engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable React applications for high-traffic consumer journeys such as discovery, cart, checkout, and order tracking. You will translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect interfaces, own the development lifecycle, and optimize performance.

You will collaborate with backend teams on API contracts, drive architecture decisions around state management, and ensure accessibility and internationalisation.

Qualifications

• Experience building scalable React-based web apps for high-traffic journeys.
• Strong knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Ability to translate product designs (Figma) into pixel-perfect UI.
• Experience with performance optimization and best practices.
• Familiarity with REST/GraphQL APIs and client-side integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable React-based web apps for high-traffic journeys like discovery, cart, checkout, and order tracking.
• Translate designs into responsive, cross-browser interfaces.
• Own end-to-end development lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Improve Core Web Vitals, LCP, bundle size, and page load times.
• Write clean, testable TS/JS code with unit/integration tests.

• Drive frontend architecture: state management and component reuse.
• Adopt Redux/Zustand/Recoil based on needs.
• Work with Next.js or SSR/SSG frameworks for SEO-friendly apps.
• Monitor frontline health with RUM/APM and debugging tools.
• Ensure WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility and support internationalisation.
• Participate in code reviews and design sessions; mentor juniors.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable React-based web applications for high-traffic consumer journeys such as discovery, cart, checkout, and order tracking.
• Build responsive, pixel-perfect, and cross-browser compatible UI by translating product requirements and Figma designs into high-quality interfaces.
• Own the end-to-end development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to testing, deployment, and production rollout.
• Optimise frontend performance by improving Core Web Vitals, LCP, bundle size, lazy loading, caching, and overall page load experience.
• Develop clean, scalable, and maintainable TypeScript/JavaScript code with strong unit and integration test coverage.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to design efficient REST/GraphQL API contracts, minimising payload size and latency.
• Drive frontend architecture decisions around state management, reusable components, and modular code structure.
• Use state management solutions such as Redux, Zustand, or Recoil based on application requirements.
• Work with Next.js or other SSR/SSG frameworks to build performant and SEO-friendly applications.
• Monitor frontend health using RUM/APM and browser debugging tools, troubleshoot production issues, and resolve incidents within defined SLAs.
• Ensure applications follow accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and support internationalisation where required.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and design sessions, maintaining high engineering standards.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical guidance.
