Job summary

TE Connectivity in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India seeks a Sr. R&D Product Development Engineer to lead design and development of terminal and connectors & accessories for ICT business.

You will drive NPI/NPD projects, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure first-time-right implementations from concept through release. The role emphasizes strong knowledge of Creo, PLM/PDM tools, and manufacturing processes, with an expectation of 8+ years in product development and a master's degree

Qualifications

• Mechanical or equivalent Engineering degree with minimum 8 years of related product development experience.
• Masters degree or higher or equivalent may be preferred with minimum 5 years of experience in related fields.
• Good knowledge in manufacturing process (machining, molding, stamping, plating, etc.) will be a plus.
• Good knowledge in material (metal/plastic) properties will be a plus.
• Familiarity with quality tools (FMEA, 6sigma, DOE, 8D) will be a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead product design and development using engineering tools (e.g., Creo) and domain expertise.
• Support New Product Development (NPD), cost optimization, and VAVE initiatives.
• Drive customer engagement through VOC collection, technical proposals, and design reviews.
• Develop DVP&R, DFMEA, and support PFMEA activities.
• Own design releases, BOM management, and product data management.
• Ensure successful NPI transfer to manufacturing with a focus on first-time-right design.
• Design test fixtures/jigs and support product validation activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers to deliver technical solutions.
• Support product compliance, certifications, and environmental requirements.
• Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, site visits, and technology discussions.

Job Overview

The Sr. R&D Product development Engineer will be responsible to develop new products and sustenance of existing product lines including Terminal and Connectors & Accessories of ICT business unit at TE Connectivity. This position Leads/support small and medium sized NPI/ NPD , projects and/ or Supports Advance development projects to improve technology readiness level

Job Requirements

• Develop DVP&R, DFMEA, and support PFMEA activities.

• Design test fixtures/jigs and support product validation activities.
• Conduct benchmarking and reverse engineering to identify product improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers to deliver technical solutions.
• Support product compliance, certifications, and environmental requirements.
• Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, site visits, and technology discussions.
• Monitor industry trends and contribute to technology roadmaps and innovation initiatives.

EDUCATION & CRITICAL EXPERIENCE

• Mechanical or equivalent Engineering Degree with minimum 8 years of related product development experience.

• Lean DfSS or DMAIC 6-sigma black or green belt are added advantage
• Experience in SAP product data management environment and with Windchill preferred
