Job summary

You will validate AI-enabled product functionality and improve AI-assisted testing across the lifecycle, while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with architecture and release teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Typically,5–9 years of progressive software Quality Engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in manual, exploratory, API, database, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience designing or enhancing automation frameworks and integrating them with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong technical judgment, mentoring, communication, and stakeholder-influence skills.

Responsibilities

• Define test strategies and release readiness for complex projects and epics.
• Design scalable Playwright automation solutions, establish CI/CD quality controls.
• Evaluate AI-enabled functionality for accuracy, reliability, and risk management.
• Lead root-cause analysis for escaped defects and performance regressions.
• Mentor Quality Engineers and represent Quality Engineering in release-readiness forums.

Role Description

Amtech is seeking a technically accomplished Senior QA Engineer to lead quality engineering for complex projects, major product capabilities, architectural changes, and cross-functional initiatives.

The Senior QA Engineer will define comprehensive test strategies, design scalable Playwright automation solutions, establish CI/CD quality controls, and make independent release-readiness recommendations. This role requires deep expertise in manual testing, test automation, API and database validation, distributed-system testing, performance and load testing, cloud-based applications, observability, and production-quality risk management.

The Senior QA Engineer will also evaluate AI-enabled product functionality and improve the use of AI-assisted techniques across the testing lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Strategy and Testing

• Own quality strategy, risk assessment, test coverage, and release readiness for complex projects and epics.
• Lead requirement, solution, and design reviews toidentifyquality and testabilityrisks.
• Define risk-based coverage across manual, exploratory, API, database, integration, migration, performance, resilience, and end-to-end testing.
• Provide evidence-based release recommendations and clearly communicate residual risks.

Automation and Technical Engineering

• Build reusable framework components, fixtures,test datautilities, API automation, and reporting capabilities.
• Review automation code and improve reliability, maintainability, execution speed, and test stability.
• Integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines and defineappropriate qualitygates.

Performance and Non-Functional Testing

• Understanding ofnon-functionaland performance issues(Nicetohave)
• Ability to understand performance KPIs (Nice to have)

Quality Improvement and Leadership

• Lead root-cause analysis for escaped defects, recurring failures, automation instability, and performance regressions.
• Drive corrective actions that reduce defect leakage, regression time, and maintenance effort.
• Track quality metrics including defect trends, automation stability, performance, and release confidence.
• Use approved AI tools for test design, automation,test datageneration, and defect analysis.
• Validate AI-enabled functionality for accuracy, reliability, consistency, and failure handling.
• Mentor Quality Engineers and represent Quality Engineering in architecture, design, and release-readiness forums.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, ora relateddiscipline, or equivalent experience.
• Typically,5–9 years of progressive software Quality Engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in manual, exploratory, API, database, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience designing or enhancing automation frameworks and integrating them with CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SQL, Git, code reviews, anddistributed systemtesting.
• Hands-on experience with performance and load-testing tools such as JMeter, k6, Gatling, or Locust.
• Experience analyzing logsand infrastructure metrics.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, containers, and observability tools is preferred.
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, risk-based testing, defect leakage, RCA, and release management.
• Experience with AI-assisted testing and validation of AI-enabled functionality.
• Strong technical judgment, mentoring, communication, and stakeholder-influence skills.
