Job summary

FCM Travel India is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to champion testing and quality across our scrum team. You will be an individual contributor who leads by influence, embedding quality from refinement through release and coaching engineers to build quality in from the start.

You will design tests across APIs, integrations, and admin interfaces, advocate for contract testing, and continually enhance CI pipelines for reliability and speed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in quality/test engineering (10+ years preferred).
• Strong experience testing APIs, integrations, end-to-end flows, and admin/back-office interfaces.
• Proven experience testing decoupled or headless architectures, with hands-on API contract testing between services and frontends.
• Comfort working in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Practical experience with Playwright or Cypress; unit/integration testing with Jest; contract testing with Pactum; API tooling with Postman or Bruno; CI/CD with GitHub Actions.
• Experience embedding quality practices into agile/scrum ceremonies, particularly refinement.
• Strong communication skills and comfort coaching other engineers without formal authority.

About The Role

We’re looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our scrum team as a hands‑on quality champion. This is an individual‑contributor role, but you’ll be expected to lead by influence — raising the bar for how the whole team thinks about testing and quality. You’ll be embedded from day one of refinement through release, testing across the stack, and coaching engineers to build quality in rather than bolt it on afterward.

Day in the life:

• Design and execute tests across API, integration, end-to-end, and admin interface layers
• Test decoupled and headless architectures, including API contract testing between backend services and consuming frontends
• Participate actively in backlog refinement, bringing a testing and quality lens to story definition and acceptance criteria
• Coach and mentor engineers on quality practices — testable design, effective test strategy, and shared ownership of quality
• Build, maintain, and evolve testing tooling and integrations within CI pipelines
• Partner closely with developers, product managers, and other quality engineers to identify risk areas and prioritize test coverage
• Continuously improve test suites for reliability, speed, and maintainability

You’ll be perfect for the role if you have:

• 7+ years of experience in quality/test engineering (10+ years preferred)
• Strong experience testing APIs, integrations, end-to-end flows, and admin/back-office interfaces
