Job summary

BrightEdge in India is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to own quality across product areas, drive test strategy, and sign off releases with strong ownership and technical depth.

You will build multi-layer automation, validate data with SQL, and apply AI-assisted QA tools to accelerate coverage while maintaining engineering judgment.

The role requires independence across time zones, collaboration with overseas teams, and mentoring junior QA engineers to promote scalable QA practices.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of QA engineering experience in product-focused organizations.
• Hands-on Python automation framework development.
• Experience automating APIs and end-to-end product workflows.
• Strong SQL, database validation and backend data testing.
• Linux and command-line tooling proficiency.
• Experience with AI-assisted QA tools (Claude, Cursor) in real workflows.
• CI/CD tools and quality gates familiarity (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker).
• Ability to collaborate across time zones and with overseas stakeholders.
• Git-based version control proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Own QA End-to-End: drive quality strategy, test planning, execution, defect management, and release sign-off for assigned product areas.

• Improve Engineering Quality: contribute to CI/CD quality gates, debugging, release confidence, and overall engineering excellence.
• Operate Independently Across Timezones: work effectively with distributed teams, manage delivery ownership, and maintain strong communication with overseas stakeholders.
• Mentor and Influence: support junior QA engineers and promote scalable QA practices across teams.

Technical Requirements & Key Skills

• Strong QA Engineering Experience: 10+ years of QA engineering experience in product-focused organizations.
• Python Expertise: Strong hands-on experience building automation frameworks and test suites using Python.
• API & Flow Automation: Proven experience automating APIs and end-to-end product workflows.
• Data Validation & SQL: Strong understanding of SQL, database validation, and backend data testing.
• Linux Proficiency: Comfortable working with Linux systems, logs, debugging tools, and command-line workflows.
• AI-Assisted Testing: Practical experience using Claude, Cursor, or similar AI tools in real QA workflows.
• CI/CD & DevOps Awareness: Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, and quality gate integrations is a plus.
• Distributed Team Collaboration: Experience working with overseas teams and distributed engineering organizations. (EST Working Hours)
• Version Control: Proficiency with Git-based workflows.
