Job description

We’re looking for our first dedicated QA Automation Engineer to build and own our automated testing practice from the ground up.

You'll design and implement a robust automated test suite for our React (Remix) application and backend APIs, covering regression, smoke, and integration testing. We ship fast, so automation is critical.

This is a hands-on builder role in a seed-stage startup. You won’t just execute test cases, you’ll help shape our quality strategy.

• A reliable, maintainable Playwright-based test suite integrated into CI/CD
• Strong regression and smoke coverage that protects fast releases
• Clear test strategy aligned with product velocity
• Stable API test coverage across our backend services
• Confidence in AI endpoints through repeatable validation workflows
• Reduced production regressions while maintaining shipping speed

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end automated tests using Playwright
• Build regression and smoke test suites for our React (Remix) frontend
• Automate API testing for backend services
• Validate AI-powered endpoints (e.g. image-based responses and structured outputs)
• Define and improve testing processes in collaboration with engineering
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
• Identify edge cases and proactively improve quality standards
• Work closely with the CTO to shape and evolve the test strategy

Qualifications

• Strong experience in QA automation (5+ years preferred)
• Hands-on experience with Playwright (or similar modern E2E frameworks)
• Solid understanding of API testing and REST-based services
• Experience working in fast-moving startup environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and ownership mindset
• Comfortable testing systems involving AI/ML outputs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
