Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Senior QA Engineer with strong manual and automation testing skills across web and API platforms. You will own end-to-end quality for features, develop test plans, automate tests, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust releases.

Qualifications

• Develop and document comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automation scripts from scratch.

• Accurately report, track, and manage defects using Azure DevOps, ensuring clear communication with the dev team.

Job Description – Senior QA Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer with strong expertise across web, and API testing. The ideal candidate possesses a solid foundation in manual testing, extensive hands‑on automation skills, strong analytical abilities, and the capability to take ownership of end‑to‑end quality for assigned features. This role requires close collaboration with cross‑functional teams and continuous improvement of testing processes, frameworks, and automation coverage.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop and document comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automation scripts based on functional and technical requirements from scratch.
• Create and execute automated test cases including few manual scenarios to validate software functionality, usability, API responses, and overall system stability.
• Build, enhance, and maintain automation test suites for web and API platforms.
• Accurately report, track, and manage defects using Azure DevOps, ensuring clear and concise communication with the development team.
• Take ownership of end‑to‑end quality for assigned modules/features and ensure timely delivery of high‑quality releases.
• Perform regression testing to ensure new changes do not adversely impact existing functionality.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, designers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and provide early feedback.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6–8 years of experience in manual and automation testing for web applications, mobile, and APIs.

Required Skills

• Proficient in at least two programming languages used for automation, such as TypeScript, Java, Python, or C#.
• Experience with API testing and automation using Rest Assured or Playwright.
• Minimum2 years of recent, continuousexperience in Web and API automation
• Hands‑on experience with test management tools such as Azure DevOps, or similar platforms like JIRA
• Skilled in using AI‑driven QA tools to speed up test design, data generation, defect analysis, and documentation.
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in cross‑functional Agile teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify issues early.
• Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accurate testing and effective detection of defects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with global and cross‑functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in performance testing, including load, stress, and API performance testing, is an advantage.
• ISTQB or other relevant QA certifications would be an advantage.

Good To Have

• Hands‑on experience developing advanced test frameworks like PyTest.
• Experience evaluating LLM applications using tools like Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases.
• Experience working with or testing vector data stores such as Amazon OpenSearch Service
• Prompt & Response Testing: Design and execute prompt engineering tests, hallucination tests, and edge‑case scenarios.
