Persistent is seeking a GCP DevOps Support Engineer in Pune to join our cloud operations team. You will focus on production support, incident management, platform reliability, monitoring, automation, and continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure and DevOps processes.

The role emphasizes monitoring, incident resolution, automation, and collaboration with development, infrastructure, and security teams to improve production readiness and services reliability.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in Cloud Support, DevOps, Platform Operations, SRE, or Production Support.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience managing Kubernetes and GKE environments.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architecture and containerized apps.
• Strong monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting skills.
• Experience with incident management, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Understanding of IaC concepts and automation practices.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience supporting cloud‑native applications and Kubernetes‑based environments on Google Cloud Platform. This role focuses on production support, incident management, platform reliability, monitoring, automation, and continuous improvement of cloud infrastructure and DevOps processes.

WhatYou'llDo:

• Monitor, support, and continuously improve cloud and operational services running on Google Cloud Platform.
• Manage and support Kubernetes and GKE‑based environments to ensure platform stability and availability.
• Investigate incidents, troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Coordinate incident resolution activities and provide timely communication to stakeholders.
• Build, maintain, and optimize monitoring dashboards, alerts, and observability solutions.
• Develop and maintain operational runbooks, support procedures, and technical documentation.
• Support deployment automation and continuous delivery processes across various environments.
• Administer cloud infrastructure while ensuring adherence to security, compliance, and governance standards.
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, access management, and configuration management processes.
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, and business teams to improve production readiness.
• Proactively identify reliability risks and implement preventive measures to minimize service disruptions.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal platform operations.
• Participate in change management activities and support production deployments.
• Drive operational excellence initiatives and continuous service improvement programs.

ExpertiseYou'llBring:

• 2-5 years of experience in Cloud Support, DevOps, Platform Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, or Production Support.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience managing and supporting Kubernetes and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) environments.
• Knowledge of cloud‑native architecture principles and containerized application management.
• Strong understanding of monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting tools.
• Experience supporting production‑grade cloud platforms and mission‑critical applications.
• Hands‑on experience with incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
• Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and automation practices.
• Knowledge of cloud networking, security, access management, and operational governance.
• Experience creating operational documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast‑paced production environment.
• Experience working with Agile and collaborative engineering teams.
• Exposure to scripting and automation tools is an added advantage.
• Understanding of service reliability, performance optimization, and operational best practices.
