Job summary

Luxoft Bengaluru is seeking a senior Python back-end engineer to develop, enhance, and maintain platform services supporting data pipelines, APIs, and workflow integrations. The role requires deep Python expertise, API design, and experience with distributed systems and cloud technologies.

You will work with a team to deliver scalable, reliable solutions, contribute to modernization efforts, and produce documentation while adhering to SDLC and control standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data intensive python development.
• Core Python and PySpark developer with strong data handling experience.
• Solid knowledge of DB connectivity, data loading, transformation and calculation.
• Extensive experience with Pandas/Numpy dataframes, slicing, wrangling and aggregations.
• Vector operations on Pandas dataframes/series and use of applymap/apply/map.
• Experience with concurrent data pipelines and error handling.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Ability to design data pipeline architectures for concurrent processing.
• Experience in RESTful services/APIs and unit tests.
• Proficient with Git and SOA considerations; familiarity with Airflow, Trino, Iceberg and SQL.
• Nice-to-have: Django and PostgreSQL knowledge.

Job description

As part of Technology team, the Python back-end engineer will work on to develop, enhance, and maintain platform services supporting control specific data preparation pipelines, back-end application components, APIs and workflow integrations. The role will also contribute to platform modernization and cloud-aligned strategic initiatives. This role requires strong experience in Python development, API design, distributed systems, cloud technologies, and software engineering best practices. The resource must be able to quickly integrate into an existing development team and contribute to strategic delivery commitments.

Responsibilities:

Mandatory Skills Description:

• Proven experience as a core Python and Pyspark developer.
• Strong knowledge of DB connectivity, data loading , transformation, calculation.
• Extensive experience in Pandas/Numpy dataframes, slicing, data wrangling, aggregations.
• Vector operations on Pandas dataframes /series.
• Application of applymap, apply, map functions.
• Concurrency and error handling data pipeline batch of size [1-10 gb].
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
• Ability to design architecture of data pipeline for concurrent data processing.
• Familiar with creating/designing RESTful services and APIs.
• Familiar with application unit tests.
• Working with Git source control Service-orientated architecture, including the ability to consider integrations with other applications and services.
• Should know Airflow, Trino, Iceberg and have good knowledge of SQL

Nice-to-Have Skills Description:

• Knowledge of web backend technology - Django, Python, PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of Financial Markets Asset Classes (FX, FI, Equities, Rates, Commodities & Credit), various trade types (OTC, exchange traded, Spot, Forward, Swap, Options) and related systems is a plus
• Surveillance domain knowledge, regulations (MAR, MIFID, CAT, Dodd Frank) and related Systems knowledge is certainly a plus
