Job summary

• 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience, with ownership of multiple production-grade applications, platforms, or services.
• Good understanding of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, documentation, deployment, and maintenance.
• Strong focus on code quality, documentation, maintainability, and engineering best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work through ambiguity and make sound technical decisions.
• Strong mentoring capabilities, including guiding junior engineers, reviewing designs, improving code quality, and raising engineering standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Python for backend development, APIs, services, automation, integrations, and AI/ML-adjacent engineering workflows.
• Experience building AI-enabled applications using LLMs, RAG, tool/function calling, agentic workflows, or workflow orchestration frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with LLM application frameworks, agent orchestration tools, and durable workflow platforms such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, MCP, Temporal, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, architecture trade-offs, scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Experience designing and building production backend systems across monolithic, microservices, or event-driven architectures.
• Strong production experience with at least one database technology, including data modeling, schema design, indexing, query optimization, migrations, and operational trade-offs.
• Experience integrating with third-party services such as authentication providers, cloud SDKs, payment systems, notification systems, enterprise APIs, or customer-specific platforms.
• Working knowledge of caching, messaging, background processing, or event-driven systems using tools such as Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience building and operating production systems across cloud, private cloud, or customer-controlled environments, with practical awareness of security, networking, observability, scalability, and operational constraints.
• Understanding of production AI concerns such as evaluation, tracing, prompt/version management, guardrails, latency, cost, model behavior, and failure analysis.
• Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests using pytest, unittest, or similar frameworks.

Good to have skills:

• Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments such as BFSI, healthcare, or other data-sensitive domains.
• Experience with containerization, orchestration, deployment, observability, or infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Certifications in AWS, Azure, GCP, MongoDB, AI/ML, security, or other relevant technologies.
• Ability to evaluate, adopt, and productionize new frameworks, models, libraries, and tools pragmatically as the ecosystem evolves.
