Job summary

Worley in Mumbai is seeking a Senior Project Planner to lead planning engineers for construction scheduling and progress control on client projects.

You will develop Level III/IV schedules, prepare WBS and S curves, and coordinate with customers and contractors to align reporting formats and ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires 15+ years in Oil & Gas/ Chemicals with leadership experience and strong MS Office and Primavera skills.

Qualifications

  • Graduate in Engineering or Diploma in Engineering in the respective discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience with at least 3 years as Lead Engineer/Area Manager/Superintendent in Oil & Gas and Chemicals.
  • Strong knowledge of construction planning, scheduling, and progress reporting.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Primavera.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team of Planning engineers for Construction planning, scheduling, monitoring, and control of the project.
  • Assign/distribute works to the planning engineers and ensure that.
  • Level III Construction Programme for the project is developed.
  • Level III Programme is reviewed and modified, as appropriate.
  • Level IV schedule for critical areas of the project/critical phase of construction are developed.
  • Prepare the WBS for construction and the S curves for progress monitoring/Review the WBS structure and the S Curves, in case available, and make modifications as appropriate along with the Planning Engineers.
  • Discuss with Customer and finalize the progress reporting formats, in line with the standard formats.
  • Review the tender/contract documents to understand the requirements of construction planning and progress reporting to be fulfilled by the contractors.
  • Collaborate with the planning engineers/discipline engineers towards review of the construction programme and resource deployment schedule submitted by the contractors.
  • Consolidate and furnish comments on the submission from the contractors.
  • Collaborate with the planning engineers/discipline engineers and the Construction Manager/Resident Construction Manager for approval of the contractor’s schedule and resource deployment plan.
  • Align with the contractors for progress reporting formats and frequency.
  • Report overall progress of construction periodically as agreed with the Customer.
  • Collaborate with planning engineers/discipline engineers in monitoring the work front status in terms of IFC drawings (Issued for Construction Drawings) and availability of Free Issue Materials.
  • Collaborate with planning engineers/discipline engineers in monitoring the progress of works and resource deployment by the contractors. Highlight deficiencies through formal communication to the contractors.
  • Prepare slide packs for progress review meetings with contractors and customer. Review minutes of meetings, as required.
  • Assist the Resident Construction Manager/Construction Manager to monitor the Worley internal budget for Construction Management.

The Role

As a Senior Project Planner with Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

  • Responsible to lead the team of Planning engineers for Construction planning, scheduling, monitoring, and control of the project.
  • Assign/distribute works/work areas to the planning engineers and ensure that.
  • Level III Construction Programme for the project is developed.
  • Level III Programme is reviewed and modified, as appropriate.
  • Level IV schedule for critical areas of the project/critical phase of construction are developed, as may be required.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

  • Job Specific Knowledge: Knowledge of sequence of activities, durations, resource requirement and progress monitoring methods. for various construction activities.
  • Industry Specific Experience: Graduate Engineers with minimum 15 years of experience with minimum 3 years of experience of working as Lead Engineer/Area Manager/Superintendent in Oil & Gas Sector and Chemicals.
  • Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: Graduate in Engineering/Diploma in Engineering in respective discipline.
  • HSE Capability: Knowledge of safe methods of execution of construction activities for the respective discipline.
  • IT Skills: Proficient in MS Office and Primavera.
  • People Skills: Team Player, interpersonal skills.
  • Other: Adaptable, open towards learning and development, person of integrity and possess good communication skills.
