Qualifications

• Graduate degree and PMP certification are pluses.

Job description

Position Title: Senior Project Manager (IND) Job Family: BSP > Program/Project Shift: Job Description:

The Senior Project Manager (IC) role will manage and execute multiple projects of varying sizes and duration, including large projects from a global perspective and regulatory/internal policy compliance. Collaborates with various functional teams, including compliance, legal, data privacy, business operations, clinical, technology, and others. Works with moderate guidance and is responsible for applying critical thinking and project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project deliverables and processes

Project Management:

• Drives structured governing project management processes to deliver target business outcomes on the International & Carelon Operations strategic priorities.
• Determines project scope and resource needs.
• Develops and implements work plan structure, project schedule, requirements documents, risk management plan, communication management plan, and project approval matrix.
• Coordinates requirements identification, solutioning, implementation plans and post-implementation reviews.
• Leads project meetings.
• Creates project portfolio reporting capabilities for senior management; regularly reports project status.
• Defines quality/outcome gates for each project phase.
• Drives efficiency improvements related to speed, quality, and simplification by eliminating rework.

Transition Management:

• Recommends solutions and facilitates resolution of issues.
• Implements process improvements and quality reviews.
• Defines critical success factors.
• Establishes and executes governance and controls.
• Implements prioritization for better assessment of the projects for senior management approvals.
• Automates manual processes and sets up dashboards.
• Provides a central repository and project information for all projects through implementation.

Knowledge Sharing:

• Trains and coaches team members.

Qualification

• A BA/BS in a related field
• Demonstrated results with progressively increasing responsibilities and proven ability to manage multiple projects and work with a geographically distributed team.
• Requires strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and facilitation skills.
• Experience in creating an effective team environment, building strong relationships, negotiation, solving problems and issues, and communicating effectively at all levels of an organization.
• Knowledge or experience with project management tools, documentation tools, and reporting tools.
• Graduate degree is a plus.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
• High proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).

Experience

• Minimum of 18 years professional project management experience required during which at least 5 years are spent leading and directing project tasks, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Knowledge and Competencies

• Strong critical and strategic thinking skills.
• Focus on execution. Ability to execute multiple projects and solve problems and issues.
• Excellent communication skills with an eye for detail and a focus on the concise and accurate analysis and presentation of data across emails, spreadsheets, presentations, meetings, and reports.
• Excellent presentation and reporting skills to executive level audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiating abilities; has experience in dealing with senior management.
• Exceptional program management. Ability to identify when a struggling project needs additional guidance from leadership, and to streamline it appropriately.
• Ability to build strong collaborative relationships across multiple functional teams in the organization.
• Learning agility.
