Job summary

Whirlpool India is seeking a skilled Costing/Cost Modelling professional to develop cost models for electronics and electrical parts, including PCBs, wiring harnesses and power cords. You will collaborate with Target Costing, Commodity, Design and Product Management teams to optimize cost and supplier choices.

Candidates should have 5–10 years of experience in electronics/electrical commodities, a B.Tech in Electronics/Electrical Engg, and strong knowledge of PCB and harness manufacturing

Qualifications

• 5-10 yrs experience handling commodities including Electronics and Electrical.
• B.Tech (Electronics/ Electrical Engg) educational background.
• Knowledge of PCB, wiring harness and power cord manufacturing processes.
• Ability to assess cost drivers and perform cost evaluations.

The team identifies, researches and evaluates suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. Recognizes and evaluates sales, promotional campaigns, and other opportunities to secure reduced prices. Assesses supplier's products to ensure that they comply with specifications and meet the organization's quality standards

This Role In Summary

Responsible for development of Cost models, Cost Discovery for Electronics parts such as PCBs and Electrical parts such as Wiring harness, Power Cords.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

Responsible for Cost Model development of Electronics and Electrical commodities. Close interaction with the Target Costing, Commodity , Design and Product Management ( Plant GSS ) Team.

Basic knowledge of PCB, Wire harness and Power cord Manufacturing/ Assembly line processes. Communication skills are a must to deal with global partners.

Strong ability in Electronics Tier-2 child parts identification and suggestion of low cost component alternatives , industry knowledge about alternate Manufacturers and overview of PCB designing. In Electrical space, knowledge about wiring harness/ power cord design, connectors, terminals wire grades and manufacturing processes.

Knowledge of cost drivers affecting the overall cost and direct indirect cost

Key Deliverables

Accuracy in part/ component costing for project management , generating cost ideas and delivering productivity.

Minimum Requirements

5-10 yrs experience of handling commodities including Electronics and Electrical

Educational Background -B.Tech (Electronics/ Electrical Engg)

Preferred - Knowledge Of Technical And Commercial Both

Preferred Industry - Home appliance industry/ Automotive Industry/EMS /Suppliers/Manufacturers

Preferred Skills And Experiences

TECHNICAL

High level experience on PCB, Wiring harness & Power cords manufacturing process, cycle time and MHR data.

Knowledge of the design related cost parameters.

Add value in supplier selection by cost evaluation and comparison.

Knowledge about cost headers and factors that impact overall cost.

Basic knowledge on procurement processes.

Should be able to comprehend PCB and wiring design drawings and conclude cost based on the design inputs.

Work on global assignments and exposure with outside India projects

BEHAVIOURAL

Communication skills are a must to deal with global partners and stakeholders.

Should have good presentation skills

Logical approach towards problem solving
