Job summary

Fivetran India Private Limited is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead the Engineering PMO from Bangalore. You will plan, track, and drive cross‑functional product and engineering objectives, coordinating across engineering, product, and operations to deliver complex initiatives on time.

You will shape program management practices, mentor teams, and maintain strong communication with senior leadership and key partners.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a technical position (software engineer, QE/QA, platform engineer, etc.).
• 4+ years of experience in technical project/program management.
• Agile and waterfall project/program management experience.
• Familiarity with Jira and PM tools.
• Ability to lead large, complex initiatives with minimal oversight.
• Can introduce structure and order in volatile conditions.
• Can clarify vague goals and requirements.
• AI LLMs and AI Agents usage proficiency.
• AI skills development beneficial.
• In-depth knowledge of program management technologies & methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate with senior leadership on cross-functional initiatives.
• Facilitate discussions on System Design, Data Architecture, Infrastructure Management & Quality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; data-driven mindset.
• Proficient in addressing technical issues and mitigation plans.
• Can align team members to program goals.
• Demonstrates integrity in professional conduct.
• Startup experience a plus; PMP certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure, ETL/ELT, and Modern Data Stack.

Responsibilities

• Manage key engineering projects, and/or programs, from initiation to closing.

About The Role The mission of the Engineering Program Management Office (PMO) is to implement program and project management methodologies that enable Fivetran to deliver complex products and initiatives on time and within expectations. In addition, the Engineering PMO serves as the subject‑matter expert body on project and program management standards, directing a department‑wide approach to program delivery and communication.

You will help plan, track, and execute the company's most critical and cross‑cutting Product and Engineering objectives.

You will be responsible for leading cross‑functional teams, managing complex programs and projects, and ensuring the timely delivery of high‑quality solutions that meet our customers' needs.

You will communicate and work in close collaboration with partners across the engineering team and other business partners to achieve this vision.

This is a full‑time position based out of our Bangalore Office, India.

Technologies you will use: G Suite, AI LLM and Agents (Claude Code, Gemini, ChatGPT, and similar), Jira, Looker, Graphana, Lucid Charts, Workday, Sigma, Figma, BigQuery, Custom Apps.

What You’ll Do

Program/Project Management Manage key engineering projects, and/or programs, or initiatives from initiation to closing. Provide regular status updates on a variety of internal channels to all levels of the organization. Define program charters, plans, and schedules. Drive Program execution. Drive Product representatives in providing timely direction and requirements. Lead internal cross‑functional teams in engineering and validation activities. Ensure tight inter‑team coordination and communication. Digest, understand, and communicate complex, technical/engineering issues. Identify and resolve conflicts or issues quickly, efficiently, and effectively. Surface and mitigate risks or defects, and lead technical task forces to ensure proper risk responses or issue resolution. Manage interdependencies across multiple engineering disciplines and stakeholders, including platform, SRE, & QA. Develop creative solutions, remove obstacles, and redefine approaches to balance cost, quality, and delivery priorities. Work closely with product management, data analytics, enablement & support. Define and own specific program metrics and objectives. Track and report on PMO KPIs.

Process Improvement

Act as a role model for project/program management processes. Surface feedback and enhancement to project/program management processes. Align stakeholders and team members towards project/program management best practices.

Skills We’re Looking For

• 1+ years of experience in a technical position (software engineer, QE/QA, platform engineer, etc.).


• Software project management experience is a strong plus.


• 4+ years of experience in technical project/program management.


• Agile and waterfall project/program management experience.


• Familiarity with project management tools like Jira.

• You can facilitate discussions with engineering subject‑matter experts on topics such as System Design, Data Architecture, Infrastructure Management (including cost management), and Quality.


• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with the ability to interact and collaborate with technical and non‑technical groups at all levels.


• A data‑driven and action‑oriented mindset with excellent planning, analytical, problem‑solving, project/program management, organizational, and leadership skills.


• Proficient in addressing technical issues and providing effective mitigation plans.


• Can align team members to program goals and objectives.


• Demonstrates integrity, upholding professional codes of conduct.
