Pratham Education Foundation is seeking a motivated Program Associate to support the Second Chance Program across 12 Indian states. You will work with the Content Lead and Operations Lead to ensure smooth teaching-learning processes, content availability, and training of central and state teams.
You will engage facilitators and learners with varying digital literacy, simplify processes, and address day-to-day challenges while ensuring learner engagement and learning outcomes.
Pratham Education Foundation (Pratham) is one of the largest education NGOs in India with a record of innovative, rigorously evaluated programs that have inspired similar programs across three continents. With a history spanning 30 years, Pratham’s work today extends from programs for early and elementary years to girls and women, and youth skilling. Through programs covering 24 states and Union Territories, in an average year, Pratham usually reaches over 7 million children and youth. This is achieved through a combination of efforts: directly working with children and youth in communities, as well as through collaborations with state and district-level governments.
Pratham has received notable awards such as the Lui Che Woo Prize, WISE Prize for Innovation, Skoll Award for Social Entrepreneurship, the Henry R Kravis Prize in Leadership and the CNN-IBN Indian of the Year for Public Service. Pratham also received the 2021 Yidan Prize for Education Development and the Yashraj Bharati Samman in 2025.
Pratham’s research and experience show that barriers, such as lack of confidence in their abilities, poor or non-existent foundational and applied skills, coupled with a general lack of information about employment and livelihood pathways, life events, and opportunities , influence girls’ and women’s willingness and abilities to seek and access education and employment opportunities. This situation is rooted in and perpetuated by a set of social norms and expectations that frame what is thought of as appropriate behaviors and roles for girls and women. Second Chance is a year-long intervention that aims to help dropouts, especially girls and women, restart their education and complete secondary schooling. The program provides academic support to learners to help them prepare and appear for the Grade 10 examination through Open Schooling Institutions or State Education Boards; learners also get exposure to life skills and similar co-scholastic modules which can enhance their skillset and help in their personal and professional journey. Started in 2011, the program is operational across 12 states in India and has reached more than 50,000 girls and women. The program is headed by a core team which is based across Ahmedabad, Delhi, and Mumbai.
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Program Associate to support the Second Chance Program, across 12 Indian states. Working closely with the Content Lead and the Program and Operations Lead, you will play a key role in ensuring that the teaching-learning processes across all states, boards and languages proceed smoothly. This would include content availability, content creation and review, state operations which include field visits, training of central and state teams, logistics and quality assurance in facilitation and delivery. The responsibilities also include communication with state teams to confidently use the Pratham learning platform in their day-to-day work.
Our target group includes facilitators and learners with varying levels of digital literacy, in rural and semi-urban program locations. Therefore, we are looking for someone who enjoys simplifying processes, solving day-to-day operational challenges, and ensuring learner engagement and meeting learning outcomes.
The role is dynamic, and responsibilities may evolve based on ongoing projects, new platform features, and program priorities.
