Job summary

MoEngage Inc. is seeking a Data Platform Owner to lead the core data layer powering campaigns, analytics, and segmentation.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, and customer stakeholders to ensure scalable, reliable data ingestion and governance across the platform. You will drive data quality, schema integrity, and privacy compliance while translating complex data architecture choices into actionable business goals for leadership and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building data products such as pipelines or platforms.
• Experience with enterprise/BFSI data compliance.
• Ability to translate architecture decisions into business narratives.
• Experience influencing roadmaps without direct authority.
• Knowledge of data governance and privacy requirements like GDPR/DPDP.

Responsibilities

• Own data ingestion, quality, and observability; detect and resolve data drops, schema drift, and pipeline failures before customer impact.
• Be the authoritative voice on data platform architecture, capabilities, and constraints to enable product teams.
• Partner with engineering to define scalable, reliable architecture for high-volume event and profile data pipelines, balancing latency, cost, and correctness.
• Drive data governance and compliance requirements (retention, archival, encryption, privacy) into product decisions.
• Work with enterprise customers and stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into product requirements.
• Define, track, and own platform health metrics to prioritize the roadmap and tell the platform's story.

About the Role

MoEngage's Data Charter sits at the core of how customer data flows into, through, and out of the platform - spanning ingestion, storage, quality, governance, and interoperability with the broader customer data ecosystem. This is a platform-as-a-product role: you will own the data layer that every other product at MoEngage - campaigns, analytics, segmentation - depends on, and you will be the connective tissue between engineering, enterprise customers, and internal stakeholders who consume this platform daily.

Key Responsibilities

• Own data ingestion, quality, and observability initiatives - designing systems to detect, alert, and resolve data drops, schema drift, and pipeline failures before they impact customer-facing use cases
• Be the authoritative voice on the data platform's architecture, capabilities, and constraints - enabling other product teams to build confidently on top of it
• Partner with engineering to define scalable, reliable architecture for high-volume event and profile data pipelines, balancing latency, cost, and correctness
• Drive data governance and compliance requirements (data retention, archival, encryption, and privacy regulations like GDPR/DPDP) into product decisions
• Work closely with enterprise customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into product requirements
• Define, track, and own platform health metrics and use it to prioritize the roadmap and tell the platform's story.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building data products - data pipelines, data platforms, data quality/observability tooling, or similar products
• Working knowledge of Customer Data Platforms (CDPs)/ Data Warehouses is a plus
• Solid grasp of data engineering concepts: data models, schemas, identity resolution, data relationships and data reconciliation is a must have
• Experience working with enterprise or BFSI-grade customers where data compliance, retention, and auditability are non-negotiable
• Demonstrated ability to influence roadmaps and drive alignment across product, engineering, and business stakeholders without direct authority
• Ability to translate technical data architecture trade-offs into clear business narratives for both engineering and leadership audiences
