Job summary

Sandisk in Bengaluru is seeking a Staff Engineer for Product Development Engineering focused on C, NAND, and microcontroller firmware. You will design and develop Manufacturing/Reliability firmware to qualify NAND across SSD, USB, SD, and related memory products.

The role requires 8–12 years in embedded systems with strong C, NAND, and Python skills, hands-on ARM/ARC/RISC-V experience, RTOS familiarity, debugging tools, and knowledge of schematics and datasheets.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in embedded systems or related fields.
• Proven expertise in C, NAND programming, and firmware development.
• Hands-on experience with ARM/ARC/RISC-V microcontrollers and peripherals.
• Strong debugging, testing, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of NAND flash memory (BiCS) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements from cross-functional teams to qualify NAND for SSD, SD/uSD, USB, and related products.

Job Description

We are recruiting a Product Development Engineer to design and develop a Manufacturing/Reliability/Production Firmware, which will be used to qualify NAND/HBF across memory products (SSD, USB, SD, uSD, HBF)

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyzing the requirements from cross functional teams to qualify the NAND for SSD (cSS/eSS), RPG (SD/uSD, USB, Ext SSD) products
• Design & Development of Manufacturing/Reliability Firmware for NAND.
• Enhance the firmware as per the latest controller & NAND Specs.
• It needs detailed understanding of controller specification, NAND specification & debugging of both HW/FW components.
• Qualify the NAND by testing it using Manufacturing/Reliability Firmware
• Fix bugs in existing Manufacturing/Reliability FW, Test Programs and Collaborate with cross functional team in debugging issues from production
• Should be able to work with geographically distributed teams and ensure on time & quality delivery of committed deliverables
• Individual must have the passion to learn new technologies.

Job Requirements:

• Excellent in C programming skills, NAND Programming skills, Python skills
• Very good knowledge and hands on experience with ARM/ARC/RISC-V microcontroller architecture and Peripherals (like TIMER/SPI/I2C/UART/USB/DMA)
• Hands on experience in design, development, testing and debugging of embedded systems.
• Good knowledge on debugging tools like GDB, JTAG etc
• Experience with RTOS (ThreadX) is desirable
• Good knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets/specification for controller
• Good to have knowledge/experience on NAND flash memory (BiCS)
• Familiar with configuration management tools(SVN, Git, Bitbucket), defect tracking tools(JIRA), and peer review (like code collaborator)
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

Qualifications Experience:

8 to 12 years (B.Tech/M.Tech) Minimum qualification: B.E or B.Tech ( EEE/ Electronics and communication/ CSE)
