Job summary

Hitachi ABB Power Grids in India seeks an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead capacitor bank design and HVDC capacitors. You will prepare CAD drawings, create BOMs in SAP, and coordinate with external labs for tests.

The role demands strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, CREO) and solid proficiency in Excel and English. The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in related product design and a motivation to contribute to advanced power-electronics projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineer – Electrical; 8–10 years of experience in product design (current transformer/ Capacitor voltage transformer/ capacitor bank/ transformer).
• Strong technical foundation in electrical design and hands-on CAD tools.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word; proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• CREO knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design of capacitor unit and capacitor bank.
• Calculation of HVDC/series capacitor electrical and mechanical parameters.
• Preparation of order bound drawings using AutoCAD software.
• Preparing Bill of Material and uploading BOM in SAP; release design data in Digital passport system.
• Support to offer engineering by providing costing.
• Support to manufacturing and testing and service for design related queries.
• Coordinate Type tests with external labs (CPRI/ERDA or others).
• Material planning for long lead components.

• Design of capacitor unit and capacitor bank.
• Calculation of HVDC/series capacitor electrical and mechanical parameters
• Preparation of order bound drawings using Autocad software
• Preparing Bill of material and uploading bill of material in SAP, Release the design data in Digital passport system
• Support to offer engineering by providing costing
• Support to manufacturing and testing and service for design related queries.
• Type test co ordination with external laboratory CPRI ERDA or any other approved testing laboratory
• Material planning for long lead components.

Your background:

• Bachelor of Engineer – Electrical. With experience of 8 to 10 years in same or similar product design ex current transformer/ Capacitor voltage transformer/ capacitor bank/ transformer etc.
• Candidate should be technically sound as well as interested in product design.
• Good knowledge on Autocad software. CREO knowledge will be additional advantage
• Interest in mathematical calculations and technical writeups.
• Good knowledge in Microsoft Excel and word.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
