Job summary

FLSmidth is hiring a Senior Product Configuration Engineer to support design automation across Mining products. You will work as an individual contributor within an international team, designing product models with Tacton Configurator Studio and mapping them via Tacton Design Automation for SolidWorks.

You will ensure model quality, stay aligned with specifications, and collaborate with the on-site product team to meet project deadlines while promoting productivity and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 4 to 6 years of Hands-on experience with Tacton modelling (mandatory).
• 8 to 12 years of Hands-on experience in Part modelling, assembly, and Drawings (SolidWorks mandatory).
• Good knowledge of SolidWorks Configurations & design tables.
• Good knowledge of design automation tools.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks API is a plus.
• Knowledge in Tacton CPQ is Plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance on design automation (3D model / 2D Drawing).

Job description

As a Senior Product Configuration Engineer, you will be an individual contributor working with a team that supports design automation across Mining products, including Proposal and Pricing documents, as well as product optimisation. By joining this team, you will have the opportunity to work in an international environment with a variety of challenges.

Your responsibilities

• You will be responsible for designing & developing product models in Tacton Configurator Studio.
• Mapping the product models using Tacton Design Automation for SolidWorks.
• Supports the maintenance and improvement of the existing tacton product models.
• Provide technical assistance to the team on design automation (3D model / 2D Drawing).
• Interact with the on-site product team & counterpart to clarify product design.
• Ensure compliance with specification requirements.
• Timely review of the drawings developed by the draftsman & engineers.
• Reviewing the new BOM & comparing it with the existing product configuration.
• Define the design automation required for the project/product and communicate with the team member.
• Delegate the tasks within the team and update the status to the team lead.
• Maintain the productivity and efficiency of the team.
• Ensure error-free documentation from designers & engineers with adherence to guidelines defined on design automation.
• Highlight any delays in inputs or progress to the management and provide mitigation plans to minimise the delays.
• Identify CTO and ETO processes and automate the product configuration.
• Ensure all the preliminary activities are covered in the design automation phase from the CTO and CPQ perspectives.
• Confirm the smooth transition between CPQ and enovia.

What you bring

• Good at estimating time and effort for a given task.
