Job summary

FLSmidth is seeking a Product Configuration Engineer to contribute to design automation for mining products. You will work on proposal and pricing documents, create CAD models, and optimize product structures within a global team.

You should bring 6–8 years of SolidWorks experience, CAD automation familiarity, and knowledge of design configurations. Strong collaboration and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience in part modelling, assembly, and drawings (SolidWorks mandatory).
• Experience with configurations and design tables.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks API is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Designing & developing product models in Tacton Configurator Studio.
• Mapping product models using Tacton Design Automation for SolidWorks.
• Modeling & detailing in SolidWorks.
• Maintain BOM structure and ensure design documentation aligns with guidelines.

Job description

Create a better future! As a Product Configuration Engineer, you will be an individual contributor working with a team of people who support the design automation across Mining products in the areas of Proposal, Pricing documents, along with product optimisation. By joining this team, you will have the opportunity to work in an international environment with a variety of challenges.

Your responsibilities

• Designing & developing product models in Tacton Configurator Studio.
• Mapping the product models using Tacton Design Automation for SolidWorks.
• Modeling & Detailing in SolidWorks.
• Analyse the work content and estimation of drafting hours required to complete the task with available inputs.
• Good understanding of CAD automation & prepare the 3D models & drawings based on the given product structure.
• Supports the maintenance and improvement of the existing Model & drawings from an automation perspective.
• Interact with team members for clarification of product design.
• Ensure compliance with specification requirements.
• Maintaining the BOM structure in Enovia.
• Maintain the productivity and efficiency of the team.
• Ensure error-free documentation with adherence to the guidelines defined on design automation.
• Ensure all the preliminary activities are covered in the model & drawings for design automation.
• Constantly improving technical skills and keeping updated on the latest developments in the design automation field.

What you bring

• 6 to 8 years of Hands-on experience in part modelling, assembly, and Drawings (Solidworks mandatory).
• Hands-on experience in Configurations & design tables.
• Hands-on experience in Autocad 2d drawings.
• Shall have good knowledge of design automation tools.
• Knowledge of Tacton design automation is a plus.
• knowledge in Solidworks API is a plus.
• Good knowledge of Machine design.
• Good interpersonal skills and communication.
• Good at estimating time and effort for a given task.
