Job summary

McKinsey & Company in Chennai seeks a seasoned audit professional to join a team of expense auditors and investigators. You will audit firm-billed transactions, scrutinize receipts and correspondence, and validate business justifications with data-driven analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Auditing/Finance
  • 7+ years of experience in a shared service environment or audit firm
  • Knowledge on Fraud & Investigation will be an added advantage (CFE preferred)
  • Guide peer members and mentor them in their daily audits by tracking progress at work.
  • Sound understanding of audit theories, principles, and practices
  • Use logic to analyze new audit scenarios and document procedures
  • Deal with ambiguity comfortably and have sound audit judgmental abilities
  • Establish new controls in the process and streamline any manual efforts
  • Contribute towards process improvement and automation (Basic knowledge of data analytics will be an added advantage)

Responsibilities

YOUR IMPACT
You will work with a team of expense auditors and investigators on finance-related issues and perform/lead audits on firm billed transactions of individuals whose name figures in the risk scoring model. You will scrutinize supporting documentation like receipts and mails, analyze reports from expense reporting tools and vendors, and perform research on the internet to validate the business reason of certain expenses. You will seek clarifications from colleagues on expenses and be responsible for assessing the adherence to different office policies. You will Identify trends/patterns of questionable expenses, validate new enhancements in expense reporting tools, liaise with partner teams on new rollouts of vendor services in different cities, and stabilize the process. Ensure audit deliverables for the team are completed on the agreed timelines. Highlight any process issues and come with the proposed solution on mitigating the same. Work collaboratively with partnering teams on any data quality issues, validating fixes and following up diligently to ensure issues are resolved. Upon completion of audits, you will compile all the findings, write audit reports to Senior Leadership, office Finance and may also provide supporting evidence of the findings if needed to Human Resources, Legal, and Professional Standards Committee outlining the issue. Finally, you will suggest additional algorithms whenever required in the risk scoring model to enhance the audit efficiency.
