Job summary

Avanade India is seeking a Senior Power Platform Developer to build the apps our users rely on daily. This hands-on role turns business processes into canvas apps backed by a robust Dataverse model and scalable automations that perform in production.

You will own features end to end — data model, app, automation, integration and security — and bring AI into the solution with Copilot and agent capabilities within the Power Platform estate.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of application development experience with a focus on Microsoft Power Platform.
• Hands-on experience building canvas apps with responsive design and delegation-aware data access.
• Experience designing scalable Power Automate workflows with approvals, error handling and long-running patterns.
• Dataverse implementation including tables, relationships, keys, and security model.
• Knowledge of integrating AI agents and Copilot into Power Platform solutions.

Senior Power Platform Developer — Canvas Apps, Power Automate & Dataverse

Role Summary

Avanade India’s Business Applications practice is looking for a Senior Power Platform Developer to build the apps our clients’ users work in every day. This is a hands‑on build role for someone who takes a business process and turns it into a canvas app people find easy and fast to use, backed by a properly designed Dataverse model and automation that holds up in production.

You will own features end to end — data model, app, automation, integration and security — on delivery teams alongside architects, business analysts and client stakeholders. We also expect you to bring AI into the solution where it earns its place: embedding Copilot and agent capabilities in canvas apps and the wider Power Platform estate, rather than treating AI as a separate project.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build intuitive, user‑friendly Power Apps canvas apps — screen and navigation design, responsive layouts, reusable components, delegation‑aware data access and performance tuning.
• Turn business requirements and user journeys into working applications, taking ownership of usability and of how the app performs with real data volumes.
• Design and implement scalable Power Automate workflows — cloud flows, child flows, error handling and retry patterns, approvals, scheduled and event‑driven processing, and concurrency and throughput considerations.
• Design and implement Dataverse solutions: tables, columns and relationships, alternate keys, calculated and rollup fields, and business rules.
• Design and implement the Dataverse security model — security roles, teams, business units, and row‑level and column‑level security — and validate that users see only what they should.
• Integrate AI agents and Copilot capabilities into canvas apps and related Power Platform solutions, including Copilot Studio agents, AI Builder models and prompt‑based actions, with attention to grounding, accuracy and appropriate use.
• Integrate solutions with external systems and Microsoft 365 services using standard and custom connectors, Power Automate and APIs.
• Apply Power Platform ALM properly — solutions, managed and unmanaged layers, environment variables, connection references and deployment through pipelines or Azure DevOps.
• Troubleshoot, tune and resolve defects across apps, flows and Dataverse, including performance and delegation issues.
• Follow Power Platform governance, licensing, data loss prevention and security best practice, and design within the client’s environment strategy.
• Produce technical documentation, solution designs and handover material, and support testing, UAT, deployment and release activities.
• Work with business stakeholders, architects and developers to shape practical solutions, and guide junior developers on the team.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–10 years of overall application development experience, with a substantial recent focus on the Microsoft Power Platform.
• Strong hands‑on experience building Power Apps canvas apps that users find intuitive — component reuse, responsive design, Power Fx, collections and variables, delegation and performance optimisation.
• Strong experience designing and implementing scalable Power Automate workflows, including error handling, child flows, approvals and long‑running or high‑volume patterns.
• Proven Dataverse implementation experience: tables, columns and relationships, alternate keys, calculated and rollup fields, and business rules.
• Practical command of the Dataverse security model — security roles, teams, business units, and row‑level and column‑level security — and the ability to design it for a real organisational structure.
• Working knowledge of integrating AI agents and Copilot capabilities with canvas apps and Power Platform solutions (Copilot Studio, AI Builder or equivalent).
• Experience integrating with external systems and Microsoft 365 services through standard and custom connectors and APIs.
• Understanding of Power Platform ALM — solutions, environment variables, connection references and automated deployment.
• Awareness of Power Platform governance, licensing implications and DLP policies.
• Ability to debug and performance‑tune apps and flows, and to resolve defects through to closure.
• Good client‑facing communication — running requirement discussions and demos, and explaining design decisions clearly.

Preferred / Good to Have

• Experience with model‑driven apps, Power Pages or Power BI alongside canvas apps.
• Experience building Copilot Studio agents in depth — topics, actions, knowledge sources and channel deployment.
• Custom code extension skills: PCF components, JavaScript, C# plug‑ins or Azure Functions.
• Azure integration experience — Logic Apps, API Management, Key Vault or Service Bus.
• Microsoft certifications: PL-400, PL-200, PL-600 or AI-102.
• Experience with Dataverse data migration and integration tooling (dataflows, Azure Data Factory, Data Migration Utility).
• Experience with Dynamics 365 applications on the same Dataverse platform.
• Experience in a consulting, global delivery or SI environment (Avanade, Accenture, or similar), including presales or demo support.
• Prior contribution to reusable components, accelerators or practice IP.
