Job summary

Theplasticbasket in Vadodara, India, seeks a senior polymer engineer to lead the development of polypropylene compounds for automotive and appliance applications, from formulation through pilot-line validation.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage the materials characterization lab, and collaborate with automotive tier-1 partners on specifications, using twin-screw extrusion and DOE to drive scale-up and performance.

Qualifications

• M.Tech or PhD in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years in polyolefin compounding or masterbatch development.
• Hands-on twin-screw extrusion and DOE experience.
• Working knowledge of automotive OEM material specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of polypropylene compounds from formulation through pilot-line validation.
• Design and execute formulation trials for talc- and glass-filled PP compounds.
• Own pilot extrusion runs, mechanical testing programs, and scale-up documentation.
• Partner with automotive tier-1 customers on specification development.
• Mentor junior engineers and manage the materials characterization lab.
