Job summary

Cendyn is seeking a Sr. Cloud Engineer on the Platform Engineering team in Hyderabad, India. You will lead multi‑product cloud initiatives, mentor cloud engineers, and guide architectural choices while driving patching, security remediation, and reliability across the portfolio.

This senior‑IC role requires hands‑on depth across multiple clouds, Terraform fluency, and proven incident‑response leadership. The position is hybrid, with two days a week in the Hyderabad office.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience.
• Production depth in at least two of AWS, Azure, GCP; working knowledge of the third.
• Strong Terraform fluency.
• Demonstrated experience leading multi-product or multi-team initiatives end-to-end.
• Track record mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
• Strong incident-response leadership with post-incident reviews and SLOs.
• Depth on at least one of edge/network, security remediation, or observability.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end execution of multi-product cloud initiatives; partner with Platform, Systems Engineering, AppDev, and Project Management as needed.
• Mentor and unblock Cloud Engineers; conduct paired sessions, review their work, and grow their cross-cloud breadth.
• Own the senior-escalation tier of the Platform Engineering 24x7 rotation; drive incident review, RCA, and SLO articulation post-incident.
• Drive the Platform Engineering patching + security remediation program, including cadence, scope, dashboarding, escalation paths.
• Partner with AppDev managers on architectural design reviews, cloud cost reviews, and module-adoption roadmaps.
• Contribute back to Platform Engineering on module gaps– e.g., file feature requests with concrete use cases, participate in module-spec reviews.
• Apply network/edge configurations per product (Cloudflare, Route53, ACM, WAF) at portfolio scale; lead any rule-library or domain-strategy work.
• Maintain and evolve the Platform Engineering knowledge base; ensure runbooks reflect current production reality.
• Lead deployment of AI / agentic tooling for Platform Engineering operations– e.g., evaluate, pilot, and roll out tooling that accelerates infra ops, CVE triage, and incident response.

Job Purpose

As a Sr. Cloud Engineer on the Platform Engineering team, you operate at the next level of scope, depth, and influence. You’re a hands‑on engineer who also leads multi‑product initiatives, mentors Cloud Engineers, partners with AppDev engineering managers on architectural choices, and helps drive Platform Engineering’s patching, security remediation, and reliability discipline across the Cendyn portfolio.

This is the senior‑IC track on Platform Engineering. You bring multi‑cloud depth, lead cross‑product programs (large‑scale patching campaigns, multi‑cloud migrations, product modernization), and help shape how Platform Engineering consumes golden paths and feeds requirements back to the producer team.

Required qualifications

• Depth on at least one of: edge/network engineering (Cloudflare/WAF/DNS), security remediation (CVE programs), or observability engineering (Datadog/OTel)
• Strong written and verbal communication–you’re comfortable presenting to engineering managers and leadership

Preferred qualifications

• Experience driving a portfolio‑scale program (patching campaign, multi‑product migration, security audit close‑out) end‑to‑end
• Senior cloud certifications (AWS SAP / DevOps Pro, Azure AZ-305, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, or similar)
• Experience with one or more of: Cloudflare deep configuration, AWS WAF rule libraries, hybrid identity (Okta + IAM federation), or DBA‑adjacent cloud work (Aurora, RDS schema migrations)
• Familiarity with FinOps practices–cost anomaly investigation, RI/SP recommendations, tagging strategies
• Public speaking, blog posts, or open‑source contributions related to cloud engineering
• Hospitality or travel‑tech domain exposure

Tools and technologies you’ll work with

• Clouds: AWS (primary across most Cendyn products), Azure, and GCP
• IaC: Terraform (module consumer)
• CI/CD: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins, Bamboo

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday from 12 PM to 9 PM IST. This will provide healthy overlap between India team and US team and supporting both to ensure adequate collaboration. This role will be working in Hybrid Mode and will require at least 2 days’ work from office at Hyderabad.
