Job summary

NOVARGI INDUSTRIES in Pune, India, is seeking a Senior Piping Material Engineer to join our office and deliver piping materials for onshore/offshore projects. You will work with a dedicated team to prepare specifications, data sheets, and material requisitions while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, 8+ years in Oil & Gas, and strong knowledge of ASME, ASTM, and API codes, with fluent English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering in the relevant discipline or equivalent.
• 8+ years’ experience in onshore/offshore Oil & Gas industry, Petrochemical, Chemical, Power, Refineries.
• Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, API codes.
• Good communication skills, English fluent in speaking and writing.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of Piping Line Class Specifications
• Preparation of Pipe Wall Thickness Calculations
• Preparation of Valve Material Specifications
• Preparation of Valve Data Sheets
• Perform valve take off from P&IDs
• Track design changes from P&ID’s and manage surplus/needs
• Monitor piping material requirements and adjust material delta requisitions
• Compile requisition packages with applicable documents
• Design and select Piping Material Specification for Piping Systems
• Prepare Data Sheets for Piping Specialty Items
• Prepare MR for quotations and purchase
• Review vendor offers, conduct technical discussions, and prepare TBE
• List Piping Specialty Items like Steam Traps, Strainers, Hoses, etc.
• Knowledge in Testing and Inspection Requirements for Piping Components and Valves, compliance with standards

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering in the relevant discipline or equivalent

Role Summary:

As a Piping Material Engineer, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of Piping Line Class Specifications
• Preparation of Pipe Wall Thickness Calculations
• Preparation of Valve Material Specifications
• Preparation of Valve Data Sheets
• Perform valve take off from P&IDs
• Keep track of all Design changes from P&ID’s and managing surplus / needs
• Monitor piping material requirements and adjust material delta requisitions
• Knowledgeable compiling of requisition packages with all applicable documents
• Design and selection of Piping Material Specification for Piping Systems
• Preparation of Data Sheets for the Piping Specialty Items
• Preparation of MR (Material Requisition) for quotations and purchase
• Review the Vendor offers, do technical discussions with the vendors, and prepare TBE (Technical Bid Evaluation)
• Prepare the list of Piping Specialty Items like Steam Traps, Strainers, Hoses, etc.
• Knowledge in Testing and Inspection Requirements for Piping Components and Valves Compliance with Specifications and Industrial Quality Standards

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering in the relevant discipline or equivalent
• 8+ years’ experience in onshore/offshore Oil & Gas industry, Petrochemical, Chemical, Power, Refineries.
