Responsibilities

• Define baselines, SLAs, and acceptance criteria with stakeholders.
• Analyze response times, throughput, and resource trends to identify bottlenecks.

• Tune performance across JBoss/WildFly, Tomcat, SQL Server, REST APIs, and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch.
• Integrate performance checks into CI/CD and maintain test assets.

Senior Performance Test Specialist Esko | Veralto Corporation

Location: Bangalore, India | Hybrid

Reports To: Senior Team Leader

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Performance Test Specialist to independently design realistic workload simulations and own performance, scalability, stability, and capacity testing for WebCenter Enterprise, a Java/J2EE web application. The role requires strong hands‑on expertise in JMeter and complementary performance-testing tools, test scripting, workload modelling, statistical analysis of results, and evidence‑based root‑cause analysis across application, JVM, database, search, and infrastructure layers. You will partner with development and infrastructure colleagues to translate findings into prioritized recommendations and verified improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design realistic load, stress, spike, endurance, scalability, and capacity simulations based on user behaviour, transaction flows, concurrency, data volumes, pacing, and production‑like workload distributions.
• Develop and maintain reusable JMeter frameworks and scripts for web applications and APIs, including correlation, parameterization, dynamic test data, assertions, distributed execution, and automated result collection.
• Use LoadRunner, Gatling, k6, or other tools where appropriate.
• Define workload models, baselines, SLAs, and acceptance criteria with stakeholders.
• Analyze response‑time distributions and percentiles, throughput, errors, variability, saturation points, and resource trends; distinguish repeatable patterns from noise, outliers, and environmental variation.
• Diagnose Java/JVM issues using JFR, heap and thread dumps, GC logs, Eclipse MAT, jcmd, and related tools, including memory leaks, OOM errors, high CPU, thread contention, and connection‑pool bottlenecks.
• Analyze and tune performance across JBoss/WildFly, Tomcat, SQL Server, REST APIs, and OpenSearch/Elasticsearch in collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.
• Correlate transaction timings, logs, traces, diagnostics, database behaviour, and cloud/infrastructure metrics to identify and quantify root causes.
• Form and test hypotheses, recommend prioritized improvements, and rerun controlled tests to verify benefits and prevent regressions.
• Integrate repeatable performance checks into CI/CD pipelines and maintain controlled environments, baselines, and versioned test assets.
• Plan investigations independently, estimate effort, manage dependencies and risks, validate test‑environment and load‑generator constraints, and document reproducible findings.
• Use approved AI tools where appropriate for scripting, diagnostics, and reporting; validate outputs and protect proprietary and customer data.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of testing experience, including at least 5 years of hands‑on performance testing and engineering, with independent delivery of complex investigations.
• Advanced JMeter experience designing, scripting, debugging, executing, and maintaining realistic simulations for enterprise web applications and APIs, including distributed load generation, correlation, parameterization, dynamic test data, workload modelling, and automated result collection.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret percentiles, distributions, throughput, errors, variability, saturation behaviour, and resource correlations; distinguish meaningful findings from noise; and communicate evidence‑based root causes, capacity limits, and recommendations.
• Hands‑on Java/JVM performance diagnosis using profiling data, JFR, heap and thread dumps, GC logs, Eclipse MAT, jcmd, or comparable tools.
• Performance‑analysis experience across JBoss/WildFly or Tomcat, SQL Server, and REST APIs.
• Experience with monitoring and APM tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Datadog for cross‑layer correlation and root‑cause analysis.
• Experience with AWS or comparable cloud infrastructure, Linux and Windows, Git, and CI/CD pipelines for repeatable performance‑test execution.
• Ability to use Python, PowerShell, Bash, Java, or similar languages for test‑data generation, execution automation, result processing, statistical analysis, and repeatable reporting.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch performance analysis.
• Experience with LoadRunner, Gatling, or k6 in addition to JMeter.
• Effective use of AI‑assisted tools for performance scripting, analysis, or diagnostics, with critical validation of outputs.
