Job summary

SolarEdge Technologies in Bengaluru, India, is seeking a Senior PCB Layout Engineer to join the R&D PCB Layout Design team. You will work with Hardware, Mechanical Engineers, and product managers on high-power PCB designs, focusing on reliability and performance.

The role requires 6+ years in PCB design for power electronics, proficiency with Cadence OrCAD/Allegro/Altium, and strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of relevant experience in PCB design for power electronics applications.
• Proficiency in PCB design software such as Cadence OrCAD, Allegro, Altium.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal integration of power electronics into system design.
• Design and develop PCB layouts for power electronics systems including inverters, converters, EV chargers.
• Apply best practices for high-power/high-frequency PCB design, thermal management, and EMC/EMI mitigation.
• Conduct PCB design reviews, simulations, and analyses to ensure reliability and compliance.
• Select PCB materials and components considering performance, cost, availability, and manufacturability.
• Stay updated with PCB design tools and collaborate with manufacturing to resolve fabrication issues.

Our R&D division is growing globally, and we are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior PCB Layout Engineerto join our PCB Layout Design team at the new R&D site in Bangalore, India.

ThePCB Layout Design teamis responsible for the layout designs of all the Hardware products/projects, and you will work with our Power Electronics and Mechanical Engineers. The work includes working with Power, Analog, Digital, and Communication circuits.

This position is very challenging, and you will work on several projects, under a tight schedule, and in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Hardware and Mechanical engineers, production site, and product managers to ensure optimal integration of power electronics into overall system design.
• Design and develop PCB layoutsforpower electronics systems, including but not limited to Power Inverters, converters, EV chargers, and other power management systems.
• Apply best practices for high-power and high-frequency PCB design, including layer stack-up optimization, thermal management, and EMC/EMI mitigation strategies.
• Conduct PCB design reviews,simulations, and analysis toensure reliability, performance, andcompliancewith industry standards.
• Selection of PCB materials and components, considering factors such as performance, cost, availability, and manufacturability.
• Stay updated with latest PCB design tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance design efficiency and product innovation.
• Work closely with manufacturing partners to resolve any PCB fabrication and assembly issues.
• Drive results within constraints of Product life cycle development and production at scale.
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving tangible and measurable results.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ Years of relevant experience in PCB design for power electronics applications.
• Proficiency in PCB design software (e.g., Cadence OrCAD, Allegro, Altium etc.)
• Strong understanding of power electronics principles and components, familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to power electronics and PCB layout design.
• Experience with thermal and mechanical considerations in high-power PCB layout design.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during product development. Stay up to date with the latest advancements in power electronics and firmware technologies.
• Experience in the renewable energy or power electronics industry is an added advantage.
