Job summary

APOTEX in Bengaluru, India, seeks a Senior Officer - Engineering Maintenance Electrical to ensure reliable operation of electrical systems, DGs, UPS, panels and utilities, supporting production and non-production teams.

You will lead maintenance activities, coordinate with contractors, observe cGMP and safety requirements, perform annual electrical inspections, and drive energy-saving initiatives while maintaining records and AMC schedules.

Qualifications

• Diploma/BE in Electrical Engineering.
• 3 to 4 years of experience in Engineering functions.

Senior Officer - Engineering Maintenance Electrical

• Facilitate utility/facility services as per process requirements.
• Ensure smooth functioning of plant maintenance by providing on‑time engineering support to Production or Non‑Production departments.
• Upkeep the plant and machinery with minimum downtime.
• Follow GMP and safety with respect to APIPL procedures.

Maintenance Activities

• Attend to plant maintenance jobs with receipt of notification issued by the user department.
• Execute job assigned by analyzing the nature of job with suitable permit as per APIPL procedures.
• Isolate electrical feeder / electrical source as per LOTO procedure for any plant maintenance activity.
• Perform annual shutdown maintenance of all electrical panels, utilities, UPS and other planned activities.
• Ensure and comply that all electrical systems are as per electrical standards for annual electrical inspection.
• Do plant maintenance of electrical systems, electrical activity associated with process, utility and facility.
• Operate and maintain all DGs, UPS, process and facility chillers, A/Cs, UPS power and precision coolers and perform daily checks.
• Coordinate with user departments to perform the Calibration activity as per APIPL procedures.
• Co‑ordinate with authorized service personnel/service contractor to perform plant activity as per AMC schedule and adhering to all APIPL procedures.
• Maintain and update Service records and AMC reports, ensuring that AMC services are carried out in time as per approved AMC schedule.
• Operate all utilities as and when required as per APIPL procedures.
• Co‑ordinate with authorized service personnel to perform periodical checks as per AMC schedule of available AMC agreements.
• Maintain logbooks and any other records as per APIPL procedures.
• Maintain healthiness of earth pits and carry out periodic tests to ensure good and reliable earthing.
• Suggest energy / cost saving proposals.
• Maintain water levels in underground and overhead water storage tanks on PB‑1, PB‑2, QC, R&D and utility for process and other use.
• Ensure safety at work as per APIPL safety procedures.
• Attend safety, cGMP, SOP and other internal trainings and external training (as and when required).
• Carry out any other tasks set by management from time to time.
• Operate track‑wise application.
• Maintain all HT/LT/DG panels, distribution transformer and other electrical panels, panel rooms, UPS rooms, lift rooms as per electrical standard act. Perform electrical compliance points as per annual electrical inspection.

Project Activities

• Discuss with project team in detail to understand the project & project drawings.
• Prepare MOM.
• Organize and utilize the resources required for the work.
• Provide safety instructions to contractors/vendors/visitors. Provide regular training on safety PPE to people working at project site and ensure area cleanliness.
• Document necessary equipment related to projects. Obtain necessary documents such as DQ, Test certificates, MOC certificates, Drawings, Installation report etc.
• Install, erect, and qualify electrical systems as per APIPL procedures.
• Report to superior in case of major breakdown/abnormalities, discuss and plan day-to‑day activities.
