Job Summary

This Networking Team Member would be involved in a variety of projects like high level networking design, deployment, and support. Candidate should be competent and experienced with networking principles, complex networking design & deployment. They will assist internal partners in the identification and resolution of network related problems. This position will work closely with the shared services teams, ASSA ABLOY business units and other team leads within IT, whereas primarily being the main point of contact for the Americas Divisional sites located in the Asia Pacific region.

Responsibilities
  • Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks

  • Offers best practice advice and recommendations towards overall network architecture and strategy

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the APAC sites Network Operations

  • Divisional SME that provides LAN, WAN, WLAN support to APAC IT Admins

  • Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures

  • Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP

  • Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation

  • Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security

  • Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting

  • Arranging scheduled upgrades

  • Investigating faults in the network

  • Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering

Experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of proven experience supporting and architecting large scale enterprise IT network solutions for internal and outward facing applications

Technical Knowledge and/or Abilities
  • CCNP/CCNA or equivalent certification in similar technology stack preferred

  • An ability to learn new technologies quickly

  • Ability to design and implement new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks within Global standards and practices

  • Proven experience installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, switches, firewalls, WAN/LAN protocols, and Wireless technologies

  • Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting

  • Experience managing vendors and procuring network equipment

  • Exposure and understanding of SD-WAN

  • Strong communication (oral, written, presentation), interpersonal and consultative skills

  • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions

  • A self-start able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment

  • Dependable and flexible when necessary
