Armor Defense seeks a senior Cloud and Virtualization Networking Engineer to design, implement, and manage networking solutions across on-premises, hybrid, and public cloud environments. Deep expertise in VMware NSX-T, Proxmox, and F5 load balancers is essential, with strong AWS/Azure networking experience.

You will drive hybrid connectivity, network automation, and security posture while collaborating with DevOps and security teams to automate infrastructure as code and optimize performance.

Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud and Virtualization Networking Engineer to design, implement, and manage networking solutions across on-premises, hybrid, and public cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Proxmox, VMware NSX-T, F5 Load Balancers, Layer 2 & Layer 3 VPN (L2L), BGP Routing, Virtual Cloud Director (vCD), vSphere, and various VMware products Knowledge is required, and experience with, AWS and Azure cloud networking is strongly preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Additional duties may be assigned as required)

• Design, deploy, and manage VMware NSX-T network virtualization solutions, including micro-segmentation, distributed firewall, and network automation.
• Design and implement networking solutions in AWS, and Azure, including Compartments, VPCs, subnets, security groups, route tables, VPNs, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute/FastConnect, load balancing, Transit Gateway/Virtual WAN/DRG, PrivateLink/Private Endpoints, and cloud-native DNS.
• Conduct VMWare NSX V to T migrations. Architect and maintain hybrid cloud connectivity solutions between on-premises VMware environments and public cloud providers (OCI, AWS, Azure).
• Configure and optimize F5 Load Balancers (LTM, GTM, APM, ASM) to ensure high availability, redundancy, and security.
• Implement and manage Layer 2 & Layer 3 VPN (L2L) solutions for secure connectivity between data centers and cloud environments.
• Configure and maintain BGP routing for dynamic network communication and optimized traffic flows across multi-site deployments.
• Manage and optimize VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), VMware vCloud Director (vCD), for multi-tenant cloud environments, including resource provisioning and networking.
• Administer VMware vSphere, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security for virtualized workloads.
• Work with various VMware products (vRealize, vSAN, Horizon, etc.) to enhance and integrate virtualization solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking and virtualization issues across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments.
• Collaborate with security teams to enforce compliance policies and improve network security posture.
• Work with DevOps and automation teams to integrate infrastructure as code (IaC) for networking configurations.
• Document network architectures, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Provide Level 2/3 support for networking incidents, escalations, and performance tuning.
• Configure and manage cloud-native network security services including WAF, DDoS protection (AWS Shield, Azure DDoS Protection), PrivateLink/Private Endpoints, and Network Security Groups across cloud environments.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on VMware NSX networking and VMWare virtualization suite (VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), vCloud Director, vSphere, etc) and Proxmox.
• Hands-on expertise with VMware NSX-T, including micro-segmentation, edge nodes, and service-defined firewalling.
• Strong experience with F5 BIG-IP (LTM, GTM, APM, ASM) for traffic management and security.
• In-depth knowledge of BGP routing, VPN (L2L), and network segmentation strategies.
• Expertise in AWS, and Azure networking, including VPCs, virtual networking, cloud security, and hybrid connectivity.

Nice To Have

• Experience with Software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM Templates.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust Security models in network architecture.
• Understanding of containerized networking (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with Change Management.
• Exposure in multi-cloud networking solutions across AWS, and Azure. Transit Gateways, Virtual WAN, VCN peering, PrivateLink/Private Endpoints, and cloud DNS services (Route 53, Azure DNS), cloud-native WAF, DDoS and CDN integration (CloudFront, Azure Front Door, OCI CDN).
• Experience with Network Observability and Monitoring tools (Datadog, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Basic scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Understanding Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) strategies for networking.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in high-availability environments.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Experience with firewall platforms like Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point.
