Job summary

Unisys is seeking a Software Applications Engineer in Bengaluru to provide support for large, complex applications, design and implement requirements, and perform builds and deployments across development and production environments.

You will collaborate with the BA team, review designs, mentor juniors, and contribute to automation, CI/CD, and cloud transformation initiatives while ensuring code quality and secure practices.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination.
• Proficiency in Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Experience with REST API integrations and Web API development.
• Strong knowledge of .NET Framework/.NET Core / ASP.NET Core and SQL Server.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes; CI/CD pipelines; Git/Azure DevOps/GitHub.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Azure or AWS; cloud deployment concepts.
• Monitoring and logging fundamentals; secure coding practices and development standards.
• Mentoring juniors and participating in Agile ceremonies.
• Preferred experience in Banking/Financial Services domain (payments, API security, DevSecOps, event-driven architectures).

Responsibilities

• Develops sizing for assigned use cases with inputs from the BA team.
• Deploys QAT or UAT environments independently.
• Collaborates with testing team to address issues and regression suites.
• Explores alternative solutions using DAR techniques.
• Participates in code reviews and collaborates with other developers, designers, and architects.
• Ensures integrity of pre-production environments (dev, test, QA, staging).
• Leads process improvement and technical automation efforts.
• Provides regular status updates to project lead/manager.
• Mentors less experienced team members and supports upskilling.

• Ensures the integrity of pre-production environments, such as development, test, QA and staging environments.
• Leads efforts in specific process improvement and technical automation areas.
• Provides regular status updates for self / team to project lead / manager.
• Helps less experienced team members in completion of upskilling training / tasks.

• Ensure software quality through code reviews, secure coding practices, testing, and compliance with development standards.
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders, while mentoring junior developers and participating in Agile ceremonies.
• Provide production support, including incident resolution, root cause analysis, deployment support, and performance monitoring.
• Preferred experience in Banking and Financial Services, with knowledge of branch banking, payments, lending, deposits, transaction processing, API security, DevSecOps, and event-driven architectures.
